As long as Tucker Carlson is the sworn enemy of lying, pomposity, smugness and group-think, he doesn’t have to be a Trump fan. To expect every pundit on the right to have Hannity’s zealotry would put them all into the group-think category.

LOL - good one.

I think you may be right.

I was very early to support Trump, right here on this board. Before he even announced his candidacy. I have 100% been a supporter. Why? For two primary reasons:

First of all, Trump was the only Republican who said a single word about straightening out our trade situation with China. Everyone else was completely sold out.

And Trump was the only guy, saying Build the Wall.

Trade with China. And The Wall. He stressed those strongly. I believe they were why all the media bigwigs were wrong about Trump, and why he won. Because a LOT of Americans wanted those two issues resolved.

A lot of Americans, want our trade situation with China resolved. A lot. Not just dems, not just Republicans. A lot of AMERICANS. A lot. We are completely fed up with everything being made in China. Really.

Likewise a lot of AMERICANS are fed up with so many illegal immigrants in our country. Lots, and lots, and lots of Americans want the Wall.

In my opinion those Americans are the reason Trump was elected. Because he was pro-America about trade (the first American president in an entire generation who was), and he was the first American president in the entire last generation, who said we need a Wall.

Those Americans, in my view are the reason Donald Trump is our president right now.

Those two issues. Our trade mess with China, and our southern border. Those two issues.

It has now been two years, since Trump was elected. Two years.

We are currently running an ALL TIME HIGH record trade deficit with China. The worst in history. Between any two countries. EVER.

And it is getting even worse this year.

Furthermore, the Wall isn’t being built yet.

Those two issues, in my view are why Americans elected Trump.

They are NOT being fixed. They are, in China’s case, actually getting WORSE.

A lot of Americans voted for Trump, and elected Trump for these reasons.

A lot.

So why aren’t they being fixed?

OK. Trump’s not perfect and the Congress is not perfect and they have not met all of Trump’s promises.

So which President has ever met all of his promises?

This President is trying harder to meet his promises than any President in recent memory and he has made quite a few accomplishments in two years. Had Trump had a reasonable Congress he would have been on track to meet all of them.

I was on this board, for Trump, very early.

Very early.

I however, have NOT seen progress on the two issues which were the reasons I have been for Trump for so long.

Our trade situation with China. And the Wall.

Those were critical issues.

He needs to fix them.

Now.

How could he build the wall with Mitch McConnell leading the Republicans? As far as Planned Parenthood, that wasn’t a center piece of his campaign. I remember him saying in a primary debate that they do some good things.

He is fixing them, and your blindness changes nothing.

Your mind is too limited to see the obstacles Trump is dealing with.

Get some diapers and rubber undies, please!

I really do not care about Planned Parenthood.

I care about our terrible trade situation with China (worst in all recorded history, right now, and getting WORSE this year).

And I care about building the Wall.

Neither one, is happening.

It has been two years.

It’s not because he doesn’t understand the legislative process. The GOP doesn’t want a wall, and the Democrats won’t when they are the majority in the House.

Careful, if you’re not a hero worshipping zombie you’ll be blasted. It’s not ok to disagree with ANY POLICY or lack of progress. To do so spells instant death! He has done many wonderful things and has brought us very far but god help you if you critique in any fashion. You’re labeled such school yard terms as “bed wetter, pearl clutcher, never Trumper” and the like. The name calling hasn’t matured into a creative landscape such that a new term is applicable to whatever ails those that will blindly and sheepishly follow.

I really don’t like when the FReepers get religious about our leaders, even the good ones. Trump might end up even being a great one, but he makes mistakes or gets stymied all the time. It does no good to worship him. People here worshipped George Bush. It’s one thing to support, and even follow a leader into battle. It’s another thing to think they walk on water.

You and I whole heartedly agree. We already had a water walking president who made his followers faint and speak in tongues. President Trump is wonderful but when he (I and others feel) screws up we should call it out. When people blindly follow and offer no criticism we are then in a dangerous place. As a VP at a large financial institution i look first to those that disagree with me. I encourage it! It is because of those critical of my plans that my plans become boned and much better! I don’t want a team of mindless followers. If everyone mindlessly agreed I wouldn’t have a team I’d be a one man ruler

Exactly. If an intelligent person doesn’t at least groan when he sends out an illiterate tweet... Or displays his deep seated delusions of grandeur.

I love the guy. No other billionaire in this country has made such a sacrifice, just to try and stop this globalist Oligarchy from destroying the country. It may not be possible, but thank Gd for his strong ego to even give it a go. He gave up popularity, a decent reputation, and a very comfortable life. He’s put his entire family into very risky danger. For me, personally (for all of us), I’m grateful. But he is human, he makes mistakes, and I don’t agree with every burp from his throat nor should I.

I don’t know what he is up against with this Wall. Obviously he hasn’t been able to use mexico’s Biggest money-making industry (outsourcing their poverty and PROFITING GREATLY FROM IT) against them to pay for it. I just don’t understand it because there must be some way.

We provide Mexico 320 million a year in aid. I believe that if he hammered that home, constantly beating that drum I’m certain Congress would have caved before the mid terms. Revoking this aid would have had Mexico help pay for the wall. Taxing all wire transfers to Mexico. Impose tarrifs on all Mexican imports with the revenue going directly to the wall fund. I believe this to be a possibility. All above is Mexico paying for the wall in some fashion or another. Sure we too would pay more for certain goods but if I knew that money was going directly to the wall for those goods I’d buy more

Not quite fair, as Republicans in Congress haven’t all supported him.
