I wonder how soon the Democrats would try to retract this law if it turns out the ex-felons decided to vote for Republicans after Pres. Trump get his prison reform bill enacted?

Amendment 4 contained nothing about how it should be implemented. That’s what needs to be worked out.

If you aren't just trolling FR, then, you should start getting worked up about letting felons vote.

The margins in Florida are so slim that this could push the whole US into permanent Rat rule.

Which is maybe what you want.

Looking at the bigger picture: Felons should permanently lose their right to vote. Bear in mind that until 1850 or so, the franchise was only for those citizens who had property. It wasn't given to just any citizen, and, certainly would not have been given to someone on the dole, or a felon.

It is beyond obvious that people on the dole should NEVER be allowed to vote.

Letting dependents of the federal government vote is the sand in the gas tank of our whole country's engine. You can see it now, in real time, destroy the USA bit by bit, like a cancer. More obvious if you were alive during Johnson's administration when the AIDS of Great Society programs was turned loose on the people.

Maybe after RW2 we can secure these three Bill of Rights Part Deux Amendments: 1.) No one on the dole votes. 2.) Only people with property or military service, or with a net worth greater than zero, are allowed the franchise. 3.) Felons lose the vote permanently.

These are ex-felons. They are forward looking. It isn’t “What have you done for me lately?;” rather, its more likely to be “What will I be able to get from you in the future?”

Dems win if the question is framed this way, IMHO.

They will be identified, rewarded & their votes harvested.

Hundreds of thousands. The difference maker.

In Florida, previously the felon petitioned the court individually to have his rights restored. A judge would review the petition and decide if the felon merited restoration. Most felons don’t want to pay an attorney to do this, so they didnt bother. The Dims took the matter to the uninformed voters of my state and the amendment was passed above the 60% threshold. Mrs Colonel Buzzsaw and I voted against it. We are moving to Georgia on Jan 4. See ya!

Agree. When crimes justify the loss of liberty, society has every right to set the terms for reentry into society. Voting is a political right to which not everyone is entitled.

Hey, if it were up to me, only people who pay taxes would be allowed to vote. I would rather see an employed ex-con vote than a welfare recipient.

If our system is that corrupt (and it probably is), then what difference does any of it make? The Democrats manufacture votes from the dead, people in nursing homes, people bused en masse from polling place to polling place, the mentally defective, etc. Compared to all that, convicted felons seem like a small part of that rotten pie.
