Flynn quit working for Turkey shortly after Trump was elected. The judge didn’t know that when he made his treason statement. Obviously nether did you.
>>>Sullivan is working Flynn’s strings being puppeteer for Mueller’s puppet show
Just las week, Judge Jeanine Pirro said Sullivan was “a jurist unafraid of the swamp, a judge who has a track record of calling out prosecutorial misconduct, a man who does not tolerate injustice or abuse of power”
Yes, I did know.
Maybe. When this charade is replayed in 90 days, the judge will hammer him with about a 5 year sentence just to point out the unfairness of all of it and attempt to trigger a Trump pardon.
I was taken aback by the word treason. I just could not figure how that would apply. Were state secrets sold? Were military plans compromised? Was a coup planned? Just what rose to the level of treason?
>> Working as a foreign lobbyist while serving as a national security adviser for the presidential campaign of Donald Trump — of all people — makes him ‘effing retarded.
Check out the threads where the judge later apologized. The reason for the apology is the judge admitted he had the dates wrong, and Flynn did NOT lobby for our NATO ally (Turkey) WHILE serving as a national security advisor.
The idiot judge also needs to lookup the definition of Treason. It does not include working with an ally.
Showing how incredibly crooked our “justice” system is & Trump has done basically nothing to fix it, because he’s surrounded himself with snakes (like the Serpent in Eden) telling him lies.
Get straight on the issues here
Flynn retired, had a intel consultant business - got a contract to do an investigative study on a radical turkish dissident living in US
The contract was with a private company hq in netherlands. Not a govt, not the Turkish govt. Private individual - with links to Turk govt.
Contract lasted 3 months.Sep-Nov
Flynn sought advice from Trump campaign on registering. Got noncommital answer because he was not representing a govt nor lobbying in Congress
Finally Flynn did register
Contract ended Nov Flynn was paid for study he provided. The end
To private businessman, private company - albeit with link to Turk govt.
This is a really shaky basis on which to call a patriot treasonous
Or even to call him a lobbyist
Clinton people otoh - were promoting an actual coup
Against the govt of a US ally
They walk free

Flynn played two different roles over the course of his tenure with Trump:
1. During the campaign, he was a senior adviser on national security matters (I used the term "national security adviser" without capitalization in Post #6, which was understandably confusing).
2. At some point after the election, he was nominated for the position of National Security Adviser (NSA) by Trump.
Lobbying for Turkey in Scenario #2 -- which the judge seemed to think was the case before the midday break in today's proceeding -- almost certainly would have been illegal (I'm sure it is, but I don't know the exact charge that would apply).
Lobbying for Turkey in Scenario #1 is not illegal but is astonishingly stupid simply for the political optics of it -- and makes Trump look bad just by association.
I've never even hinted at anything related to "treason" with Flynn.
Go back and see if you can find reports of the sequence of events there. From what I've seen, Flynn didn't seek advice from the Trump campaign, but from the transition team -- which meant it was AFTER the election.
I remain far, far more concerned with the way the IC pervasively abuses power, often in secrecy, against American citizens, with the passive indulgence and active cooperation of the Judiciary (including FISA) than I am with the possible mistakes or crimes of Flynn.
These abuses will continue, and will damage and destroy American citizens that you and others do not consider morons or traitors.
Well said.
This may provide a better summation of what happened today.
Can we agree that campaign team and transition team are basically the same people separated by a few weeks and Mueller has tried to criminalize the activities of both ...Flynns activities during transition being Muellers aim since what Gen Flynn did as a private consultant before being named as NatSecAdvisor is far harder to criminalize ( what...he gathered intel and wrote a report about Gulen ....for a private company! and it wasnt Fusion GPS)

Thanks for posting.
I'm trusting anything anymore...
did this judge or did he not DEMAND and not get the 302's from the initial interviews of FLynn....
and now today he's calling a patriot treasonous?.....
I give up....I just give up.....
I agree with you about all the abuses. I just don’t know that THIS case is a concrete example of them. Flynn was no ordinary citizen here, and he ended up on the wrong side of the law by his own doing. To be honest with you, I never trusted the guy. Trump’s appeal was that he was not a politician, and he ran as an outsider who wasn’t tied to the D.C. cesspool. Why he would go out of his way to bring on a longtime swamp creature — a Democrat, no less — who had made a fortune as a lobbyist is beyond me.
I may have read that same NYT article back in 2017. It is pretty balanced. It also reflects my own feelings about Flynn’s predicament very closely.
Would that be the Logan act that The Judge asked about? The prosecutors said yes,the Judge laughed and said no one has been ever prosecuted over that.
No it does not. Flynn was a Democrat, and never a Republican. Two Democrat versions, no Republicans.
