He could be using the allocated Syria budget for the wall.

Actually, the most obvious possibility is that withdrawal plans are for after the defeat of ISIS, and have been misinterpreted/misrepresented as a change in policy.

The time may simply be approaching operationally, now that Hajin has fallen (in the last week). ISIS no longer controls any substantial towns.

It may simply be that the war against ISIS is WON - but the press has to spin that in to a negative, or it might reflect well on President Trump, or raise inappropriate pride in America, or something.

“The Kurds did OK under Assad.”

Yea, there is nothing like being an oppressed minority in what is truly your own land (the Kurds were there long before any Arabs or any Turks - they have been there since before Christianity as well). Assad, like the Ottomans, is just another in a long line of occupiers.

FAR better than under Turkey or Iran.

No comparison.

That we are militarily engaged anyway, anywhere around the world while allowing Mexico, Central and South America to off load their poor on US, now in the form of invading caravans - boggles the mind.

There has been lots of boggling of the mind lately

We have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there during the Trump Presidency.

“The Kurds did OK under Assad.”

But keep in mind that Assad’s Ba’ath Party is a racially based political movement, based on the supremacy of Arabs (which Kurds ain’t).

The Syrian Ba’ath are the last ruling Party on Earth, explicitly based on the ideological principles of the Nazi Party - Socialism based on race rather than class. The Irai Ba’ath actually carried out a genocidal campaign against Kurds (the Anfal Campaign), which they modeled on the Nazi Einsatzgruppen genocide operation on the Eastern Front.

In practice, race is becoming a more dominant “narrative” to justify (or just rhetorically persuade/incite) collectivist dictatorships in China and among the American Left. But for the Syrian Ba’ath Party, it is their explicit reason for being. It would be very very hard (not impossible) for them to reform their most fundamental pillar.

Good! This is what I voted for, ending NeoCon wars.

I just hope it happens. The Deep State & NeoCon psychos will try to sabotage this. Watch for another staged chem attack they’ll falsely blame the Syrian govt for.

Send them to the border!

Yep and a few extra in CA to make sure CA Dem/commies don’t try to pull anything. The bases there need to be beefed up.

Yep, US Press will never miss a chance to portray President Trump badly.

And ISIS is far from exterminated from Syria (Turkey) in Efrin (Afrin).

I so loath Erdogan the Islamist. And the Iranian Mullah filth. (both are empowered by Russia)

Bolton has always been a Neocon.

He hoped to box in Trump with that statement.

Lots of good thinking here on this.

Significant IMO that Syria would negotiate for southern oil fields in SDF territory (where butal fighting against ISIS remnants continues).
And the US has built up bases on Iraq border which can protect Kurds.

There’s a bigger picture we don’t see yet.
