Give up sovereignty...to WHO? And does that mean EVERY nation or just the civilized ones, like US?

Lets roll with that idea, shall we? Russia-being bigger and stronger should TAKE OVER all of Europe, erasing their sovereignty. And the U.S. should TAKE OVER every country south of us. We're getting their 'people', and sovereignty is bad and should be eliminated(according to Merkel and the U.N) so lets just use the military to annex Mexico and everything except S.A.(No one wants Venezuela). Might as well take Mexico and Central America, occupy it,kick out the dictators and cartels. No one should mind. Borders are bad.

I suppose that the governments of the European states, with the exception of the UK, have the authority to do this.

The government at Washington, however, most definitely does not. THAT government was erected by the sovereign (We, the People of the United States), and only THAT sovereign has the authority to surrender sovereignty to an international body.
