Maybe he's giving them an "out" to explain to their nutty base that they really forced Trump to put up a "fence" instead of a "wall". So he says it was all their idea and gets the win.
Yeah ... or maybe it’s a headfake by the WH to show that Trump is willing to compromise — that he will go with steel instead of concrete (although he planned for steel all along). LOL
One possibility is that the story could actually be correct and the WH is floating the story to mess with the dems.
The Left living in their bubble simply cannot accept that there are a lot of Americans out there who understand the need for a border wall.
To them, it “seems” like Orangeman is casting a Twitter spell on weak-minded people.
The reality is a lot of people are astonished there is actually a politician who is sticking to his guns on this, believes the same thing we do, and not caving as they have always done.

The answer to your question is VERY SIMPLE. The ONLY WAY to either take out Trump through Impeachment, or at least assure his defeat in 2020 is for TRUMP’S BASE (basically) us, to get pissed enough at him to the point of no longer supporting him.
This is a PATHETIC attempt to accomplish just that. It’s as pathetic as reminding up that Trump promised Mexico would pay for the wall - as if we give a crap. It’s both sickening and instructive to see just how the media is player in this.
Dems are trying to find a way out. If it’s not called a wall they can tell their idiot voters they stopped trumps Wall.
Meanwhile America gets a wall.
