Who gives a shite? Part of the charm of being a starving artist is starving.

There are tons of private museums and attractions in Washington DC.

The Museum of the Bible is incredible. The International Spy Museum is also really cool as is the Crime and Punishment museum.

The Newseum is pretty much a waste of time as it’s just a self-aggrandizing homage to those oh so brave journalists. But they do have an excellent exhibit on the Berlin Wall and show how well it works.

They probably didn’t like it when I told my kids rather loudly how the wall clearly shows the cleanliness of socialism and the dirty disorder of capitalism.

Actually, since the communist side was really clean since no one could get close without being shot and the free side was covered with layers of graffiti, It showed that capitalism was a bit disordered, but there is virtue in freedom.

Go south a bit and you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a civil war battlefield, go north toward Baltimore. If the kids are nerdy, the NSA Cryptographic Museum is really interesting. Even though my kid works at NASA, we’ve never been to the NASA Goddard Space Center museum but I’ve heard it’s great.

All of the monuments, the real attraction of Washington DC remain open and accessible.

So instead of whining, these people could have still had a great adventure for their kids, but no, the narrative is far more important.

Gosh. Artists area having a hard time schlepping their kids to "free" stuff and "non-profits" are being squeezed because they aren't gobbling up my tax money?

Oh, the horror of it all!

Impeach 45!!

Using Federal funds to pay for these jerks is unconstitutional.

The Smithsonian complex was open until New Years Day. I went to the National Portrait Gallery on New Years Eve Day.

ART- A thing of little or no use that has to be subsidized by public funds in order for its creators to be paid.
