I’ve been to B-K/Rose Barracks a handful of times.
I was stationed in Baumholder from 93-96.
I am very familiar with Rose Barracks, formerly known as Hindenburg Barracks. I lived about three blocks away, on Carl-Schurz-Strasse. I saw dozens of movies at the theater in Rose Barracks.
I’ve seen some recent photos of the area, and I see the hospital kaserne is now gone.
For a three month period I was in charge of my brigade’s map room, so about every two to three weeks I’d make the trip up to the division map room. Being in charge of the map room sucked on one hand, but it had some rewards too. Found some historically significant maps such as a WW2 Wehrmacht map of Baumholder stuffed in the walls.
