When I was a boy I used to get allergy shots at the Fort Meyer dispensary so I was there a lot.
The dispensary’s parking lot shared the staging area for funerals at Arlington cemetery.
Occasionally they would be readying a full honors ceremony, with the casket on a caisson and the riderless horse alongside. Impressive.
I imagine that this is what they will be doing for Lee Ermy.

I meant to say I think it was a legitimate promotion to gunnery sergeant. There was a fully ceremony and everything.

I can tell you, as a grand father, at least three more are in training, if God will let me finish the mission. Oldest is now 5 year's old. First Name "
CASH." At 5 year's old, he's about ready to sell
ICE to the
Eskimo's, and he barely stutters, or takes a breath while just talking his face off. ;-)
I hoping at least one of the three, become's P.O.T.U.S.
We're up to rubber band rifle's at the moment.

Enlisted (E-1 to E-8) get standard honors. It may or may not include the cassion, depends on its availabiity. Full honors is for E-9 and officers. Only Colonels and above get the riderless horse. Still, it will be a nice ceremony.

We’ll probably get to see a video of the ceremony. Maybe they’ll do something extra just because it will be widely watched, unless they are worried about setting precedent. I suspect that just giving him a plot at Arlington is unusual these days.
Some of my friends grew up on Ft Meyer’s South Post which is gone now, that land incorporated into the cemetery.

You'd be surprised how many kids and young people come to the website and send me email that they are actually going into the Marine Corps because of something that I said or did.~R. Lee Ermy
But always remember this: Marines die. That's what we're here for. But the Marine Corps lives forever, and that means you live forever.~Gunnery Sergeant Hartman
