Obama never had a press briefing.

You need a press office. A President does not have informing the press as his priority. He has other things to do. Sanders is great. She is very good at explaining things and retorting. Having a face other than Trump’s deliver his message can be a good thing because it keeps the principles and ideas in front, rather than making Trump himself the focus of attention.

You need a press office.

Why?

A President does not have informing the press as his priority.

Yet according to the article Trump deals with the press more frequently than his press office does.

Sanders is great. She is very good at explaining things and retorting.

But goes weeks without explaining anything or retorting anyone. While the President, through his Tweets and his answers to questions, does all that and more.

Having a face other than Trump’s deliver his message can be a good thing because it keeps the principles and ideas in front, rather than making Trump himself the focus of attention.

I've never seen Trump shy away from being the focus of attention.

What function does the White House Press Office currently serve that the President is also doing as well or better?

Who are you to make such an evalustion so far above your paygrade?

What makes you think my paygrade is lower than yours?

It’s not that Trump “shies away” from being the focus of attention, it’s that sometimes somebody else needs to deliver the message, so it’s about the message and not about him personally.

I suggest that the President needs no help from anyone in getting his message out. He is the master at using unconventional methods for communicating with his base.
