Can you point me to the information showing there was no buy?

Asking to prove a negative?

Can you point me to information showing the buy actually took place?

HPD and the City of Houston are attempting to do damage control for the soon to be filed civil rights lawsuit by the attorneys for the family members.

This kind of shit is why cops should never do no-knock raids. Just take down the suspects when they are out of the house in a public area and not expecting it. Easy-Peasy.

One controlled buy is stupid. Should do at least 5-10.

If they do that, how will they get to shoot the family dog and throw grenades into cribs with sleeping infants?

We’re seeing a CYA operation playing out... we know only that all witnesses were killed and that a key player on team blue , the one most likely to have presented the “evidence” to get the warrant is sidelined and is likely (make that 100% certain) is being coached by blue teams lawyers on how to legitimize their actions and paper over what they did wrong... I have a cousin that’s narco in NYC ,, I know what really goes on. Stop being such a bootlicker. In what world is it OK by you or anyone else to crash into someones house in the dead of night and start shooting without provocation (they immediately shot the dog) and not expect the occupant to defend themselves as best they can.. The dead cops deserved to be shot... They didn’t even identify as cops they were in street clothes. Why couldn’t they just walk up behind this man while he was going out to check his mailbox and slap handcuffs on him?

I'm from Texas, and in fact was only a couple miles from the incident at the time it happened.

I consider myself pro-law enforcement. But more so pro-truth. It didn't take long for some things to just not add up. Just didn't sound like the typical drug house, and I have some suspicion that the drugs found were very small amount for personal use or throw downs by the cops involved when they saw they were in error.

No one won in this one. Two innocent civilians dead and 4, I assume good but maybe overzealous LE’s dead. I hope the good thing that could come of this is an honest re visit of the use of no knock raids and tactics.

LE needs to get back to Serve and Protect mode. They seem to be too heavy handed and more about controlling citizenry than serving. Sometimes I wonder if the influx of ex combat troops into the LE world has added to that... Too many combat tactics into too many situations.

My niece is a Houston Parole Officer, unarmed. She works mostly with gang members. But she feels confident in her ability to diffuse situations with how she approaches people with her energy, attitude, and words. Some situations gets ratcheted up for no good reason other than a clash of attitudes...

I don't disagree with anything you say, and since you mention it, thanks to your niece for doing her part to keep the civilized world safe.

I personally believe that one or another thing went wrong and like you said, innocent people died for it, also some overzealous cops had a life and career-changing experience. I particularly see your point about the Rambo-fication of police departments around the country. If this couple were really who the HPD were after, they could have just picked them up while they were out walking their dog, which from accounts here is what the neighbors say was their regular habit.

Just to be clear, my reference to Texas was not intended to throw shade on anybody or anyplace in any sort of general terms, so my apologies to you if that's the way my remarks were perceived.

However, it's possible that a particular individual might have WAY over-asserted him/herself in at least one of the previous threads on this story, personally attacking several people and actually coming out and asserting that he/she was 100 person right and others were 00 percent right, as if he/she had access to inside information and that others were just plainly anti-law enforcement.

When the truth comes out, which will be awhile yet because of all the forensic evidence and testimony that has to be considered by expert investigators, (no sarcasm intended), he/she will get the opportunity to reconsider his/her position in this forum. But until then, it wouldn't be appropriate to directly address the issue, that wouldn't be productive or fair.

...and don’t be surprised if it goes to a grand jury.
