He either was or wasn’t on the phone with his manager-—either way , he claims the attack with its attendant verbal slurs including the ridiculous dead-giveaway “THIS IS MAGA COUNTRY!!”-—(really, in my hometown Chicago, way more Lib now than it was when I lived there, up until ‘82?) My guess is that he had a couple of friends stage an attack, thrown something on him, put a noose around his neck, all timed so that whoever he was on the phone with would definitely hear all the insults and fabricated sounds of the scuffle....once upon a time, there may have been an attack or two like this, that fits this template, but I am beginning to think EVERY SINGLE ONE of them is a staged hoax. NOBODY ever really gets called on it, but the initial uncritical reportage from the MSM is the only story they need-—if there’s any follow-up to reveal the hoaxiness of the story, it’s on page 36, and nobody talks about it on TV, except FOX ..I think Jussie SMollett is up shit creek without a paddle, but the timeline of thisso far tells me that the whole story will die on the vine, with the cops honestly admitting they couldn’t find any kind of proof or corroboration of his claims. Then of course the Chicago cops will in the fudge-brained minds of some Smollett stalwarts look like they are co-conspirators with the attackers.
When do they give up on “investigating” this hoax? I’m sure 0bama, Holder, and Rham are putting pressure on them to pull a Mueller by investigating this obvious hoax at the expense of the taxpayer. Then they can have the media drop it down the memory hole, and this POS get a free pass to pull off another hoax whenever he feels like it.

They can also review which cell towers were tracking his phone. Which would provide triangulation, or does so in many cases.

According to the blog world, the cops are a bit torqued-off because of the amount of manpower being devoted to this obvious non-story. They’re like, “Fine, we’ll shut up and color. This story is crap, so we’ll run that to the ground.” The best way to make the mayor look like crap is to follow his instructions to the letter.

According to my brother the cop, the investigator should have already subpoenaed his phone records from his provider. He says it’s pretty much standard procedure when there is a question.
