Libertarian candidate.
I had a friend who was a Libertarian and he explained libertarian gun law to me. He said if a bank robber walked into a bank and pulled out a gun and demanded money everybody else would be able to pull out a gun and shoot the bank robber. That’s how the Libertarians view the Second Amendment, according to my friend who was a libertarian.
I just read an article about when the Beatles arrived in NYC, the cops said the streets were soaked with urine from uncontrolled teenage girl bladders.
LaRouche reminded me of Dr. Lovelace in the old series The Wild Wild West.
He was a megalomaniac to the point that he became amusing to those who enjoy dark humor.
During that period, lefties were forming little splinter parties faster than one could keep up with them. Looking back, I suppose the big picture was the student-based "New Left" break from the old, Soviet-dominated CPUSA and its many fellow-travelling affiliates. Beginning in the '60's and accelerating through the '70's, the American left finally tried to come to terms with Stalinism. The New Left was essentially a reformation movement led by academic Marxists who wanted to throw off the baggage of the past and recover the underlying purity of the faith. Naturally, they quickly divided into factions which spent most of their time demonizing each other as deviationist. This was the world in which LaRouche was maneuvering. He must have had better organizational skills than most, since he was actually able to recruit sizeable contingents of followers and do more than put out a quarterly magazine written by grad students.
Of that whole generation of crackpot youth Marxists spilling out of the universities, Bernie Sanders made it to the Senate, Tom Hayden had a run in California politics and well, anyone else? Bella Abzug and Ron Dellums come to mind, although I don't know about their academic pedigrees. There were probably a few other Members of Congress who came out of academic hard left backgrounds. Many stayed ensconced in academia, where they have worked relentlessly to poison the minds of the next generation. Ron Radosh, Peter Collier and David Horowitz saw the light in time and have all written and spoken extensively about their "Up From Communism" journeys. I'd love to see one of them have an extended conversation with Bernie Sanders. I'd pay to go to that one.
It's a different ballgame now. The Marxist left is no longer at the margins; it has finally taken over the Democratic Party. The U.S. has now joined the rest of the world in having a major socialist party contending for national power.
Got stopped by a LaRouchie during a presidential year a number of decades back; before he could go into his spiel, I told him I was going to write in the Queen of England on my ballot. Stopped him dead in his tracks - I thought he was going to have a coronary on the spot. Very satisfying.
Wasn’t his campaign slogan that Henry Kissinger hated him the most? LOL
Good riddance
And his chalice shall be overturned, the box sealed, and they will all rest in peace.
A once in a lifetime treat!
Oh, the memories...Schadenfreude times one hundred...
Illinois Democrats hoping to wake from primary nightmare
But they still are stunned by the surprise primary election defeats of two party-backed candidates by right-wing extremists aligned with Lyndon LaRouche, a radical conservative known for his conspiracy theories and extreme views on defense, fiscal policy and social issues.
LaRouche staffer Mark Fairchild beat state Sen. George Sangmeister of Mokena, the hand-picked running mate of gubernatorial nominee Adlai Stevenson III. Janice Hart, another LaRouche staffer, was the apparent winner in the secretary of state race over party cadidate Aurelia Pucinski, the daughter of a Chicago alderman.
The upsets have crippled the party and left its leaders scrambling for a way out of the mess. State Democratic Party Chairman Calvin Sutker described the primary election outcome as ‘a disaster.’
...’I think there is a long list of culpability in this fiasco,’ said Paul Green, a professor at Governors State University. ‘But the one person who deserves the largest amount of blame is Adlai Stevenson.’
Stevenson did not promote the ticket sufficiently and displayed a lax attitude toward the primary, Green said.
Here in DuPage County, there were many of them.
The odd thing is, I did not know a single one???
During the 0bama years, they were anti 0bama.
Had one visit in traffic, he spotted my PH plates, he was a US Army veteran, no doubt.
I gave him a few bucks.
The enemy of my enemy is...
anybody can change\update, subject to the approval of “them”, so that’s a good question.
I stopped trying to change things as “they” would never approve the change.
re: death date, anecdotally, when it’s been announce that someone has died, I go to wiki to get info on them. I’ve found that somebody is usually quick on the uptake to update the date of death.
As of now, they still haven’t rung up larouche.
Once I tried to correct detail that Mickey Rourke “The Wrestler” was filmed in Acme in jersey City , not Bayonne. It was removed .
Did the change ever actually make it mainstream ? I never saw any of my changes.
It was there briefly... not sure when it was removed.
Larouche was a polymath with a genius IQ off the charts. 99% of all negative comments about him here and elsewhere is based upon heresay, rumor and innuendo. NOT ONE of that 99% has ever read a word written by LaRouche or his organization all of which are a mouse click away. Prolly take you a 10th watt of energy to move your hand and mouse finger to see for yourself what the man actually stands for and why the opinion mongers have their heads up their colons. Lot of loafer delusion jockeys out there putting their hands up inside your puppet head.
a Loudoun County bump-ola
didnt he live up on around Clarks Gap?
Fusion was in fact a good publication.

I used to get LaRouchie material regularly, back in the days when his followers were busily knocking on doors and pamphleting on the streets. This was back in his "Queen Elizabeth is the world dope overlord days." A polymath genius indeed.
