The red line on the graph is national ranking. (use left scale)

“Nearly every teacher in this nation was trained by communists.”

Yep. John Dewey and The Frankfurt School/Columbia U. made sure of that.

Not surprisingly, this common sense proposal has provoked a lot of leftist teacher fragility.

& [seriously], teaching is never apolitical

The leftist racial bigot actually got something right. That is one of the reasons government schools should be abolished.

When public schools were great, we had teachers.
Now that they are a total waste of money, we have educators.
Go figure.

The NEA - You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

They push this because whites are slow to push back. 60 years of hate-whitey, black power, we shall overcome, blah, blah, blah, has many whites intimidated, and many others feeling undeserved guilt. How much of this is to silence the truth? What group of people consistantly commits a vastly disproportionate amount of violent crime in America? What group of people was so grossly overrepresented on the evening news that mug shots were (temporarily) banned so as not to appear one-sided? There appears to be a pattern. White folks are not the problem.

What are the chances that this common sense bill becomes law?

And who the heck is going to enforce this? An administrator in every classroom 9-4...that’s the solution.....cameras? Why not?
***********
All the kids have phones which means audio and video... my kids also are required to carry a school issued laptop which has video and audio recording capability and unlike the phones can’t be banned from the classroom by teachers.. To answer your question the parents will enforce. I had a minor run-in with a teacher last year with my 6th grader ... maybe didn’t solve the problem permanently but solved it for the rest of the school year.

The average teacher only earned $1000 a month in 2009?
********
That’s the “rank among states line” , salary is $45k or $5000 per month worked (9 months) ,, pretty darn good for a low cost of living state and for a “last ditch major” you take when flunking out of college.

It is impossible to have a religiously, politically, or culturally neutral education.

Why? ....Because religious, political, and cultural philosophic neutrality is impossible in the mind of any sentient human!

Therefore... ALL ( yes, **all**) government schools are a First Amendment and human rights abomination.

Yes...kids will find a way.

I wonder .... what will prevent a student who *hates* their teacher/subject [for whatever perceived reason] to complain and start a whirlwind, for the school and gatekeepers?

Seems like a lot of trouble with many unintended consequences. Not sure how many students that age would even know they are being indoctrinated.

Not all parents are pro-active as you. :)

And so it goes, in Oregon....

https://www.oregonlive.com/politics/2019/02/oregon-lawmakers-seek-to-lower-voting-age-in-state-to-16-so-teens-can-protect-their-future.html

I know....let’s let them vote. >;(

Would courts rule that government schools are “content neutral”?

The non-neutral and godless worldview in government schools that directs the curriculum is definitely not neutral in content and certainly not neutral in consequences for the child, his family, or society.

Also....Beyond the curriculum there are school policies.

For example:
Is the prom held on Saturday, Friday, or Sunday?
Are youth permitted to wear sleeveless blouses and shirts?
Are products with meat or laced with coffee flavorings served in the cafeteria?
When a Mormon first grader is offered ice tea or coffee ice cream is that neutral in content or consequences?

There are likely thousands of non-neutral decisions that government school boards must make about curriculum and policies that are completely binary and favor the religious, political, and cultural worldview of one segment of society and undermines that of other groups’ competing philosophies.
