Again, I smell a great future in lots of research grants.

BTW, to answer your specific questions:

how do you calibrate tree rings as an instrument of precise scientific measurement?
Calibration is done with rainfall records in the area of interest.

how do you standardize it as an instrument of measure?
Only useful if you have recent rainfall records in the area studied.

what is the margin of error in tree ring measurements? isn’t the margin of error or range of imprecision far greater than the effects we are trying to calculate?
See my earlier reply that discusses limitations of the methodology.

But this is the fatal flaw.

No one wants to remember that we are talking about GASES which MOVE and circulate.

So even if CO2 molecules are heavier than other atmospheric gases, the turbulence of the atmosphere exceeds the difference in mass.

Otherwise, if CO2 settled out as a layer near the Earth’s surface, all animal life including people would suffocate with only CO2 to breathe.

So what that thermometers didn't exist 140 years ago...

The first reliable thermometers were invented over 300 years ago in 1714 by Daniel Fahrenheit.

i REMEMBER THE OLD “GREENHOUSE EFFECT” from the 1950s and 1960s.

I also remember the 1980s when POPULAR SCIENCE MAGAZINE editorialized they would no longer use the term “Greenhouse Effect” as it was not true.
Ten years later they were hollering about “glo-bull warming”.

The “people” who spout this global warming nonsense have a motto. “If you can’t silence opponents with science, then restrict them with ridicule.”
CO2 is plant food, read botany 101! FOOL!

CO2 concentration is a lagging indicator of temperature change.

The largest sequestration of CO2 are the oceans (2/3rds of the surface). CO2 is sequestered in higher concentrations during cold periods and released in warmer periods.

Ice cores are not precise indicators of global CO2 concentrations because their sequestration rate is higher in the cold periods (freezing temps).

A green house does not work by preventing radiation per se, it works because it physically prevents convection

The problem is intentional “dumbing down” of PUBLIC education has been going on for several generations and so ignorance of basic science, history, and all other useful subjects is a case of the teacher pupil relationship becoming the blind leading the blind. I suggested to my daughter that one of her AGW devoted teachers and I have a simple and civil discussion in front of a class, but she feared the consequences to my blood pressure and her grade and didn’t take up the offer.

CO2 is only a trace gas in our atmosphere ...0.04%. Most of this CO2 is from natural sources. CO2 is essential for life on earth as it is the basis for all green plants from algae to redwood trees. CO2 is plant food for green plants, thus it would be more effective to reduce CO2 levels by planting real forests rather than creating forests of windmills and solar farms. Global climate is driven by the sun which has far more impact on climate than any presumed greenhouse gas effects from molecular level increases in CO2 levels. The sun’s output varies and it is now entering a Maunder Minimum phase of reduced solar output. In relatively recent geologic times the earth experienced massive shifts in climate with much of the northern hemisphere being covered with miles thick ice sheets. About 18,000 years ago the massive global cooling that brought about the ice age reversed and the glaciers melted and retreated back to the arctic. The CO2 model does not explain this massive climate change nor can this climate change be in anyway attributed to human activity.

Climate alarmists ignore these established facts.

Of all things to declare war on? Carbon?

Not carbon, but carbon di-oxide. The other choice was hydrogen di-oxide (water).

I think you've got that backwards ... there are two hydrogen atoms to one oxygen ...

Dihydrogen monoxide.

Recently, a Freeper introduced a brilliant thought. CO2 is heavier then air and cannot form a layer at altitudes necessary to act as the glass in a green house.

Ever wonder why there is a tree line on mountains, above which there are no trees? Its not temperature related.

The only source for planet wide oxygen is CO2. We only have 1% to spare and we have more people every year. We need more CO2 so we can have more O2. A bonus would be higher crop yields. More food for more people.

Okay. Sounds reasonable to me. I truly hope you are working on getting grant funding to research this. You and your family could live like kings for decades.

Under the category of: Opinion.

If it’s fact, it’s not opinion. Needs to be categorized differently.

Every living thing is made of carbon. Carbon is the ultimate building block. And I think that carbon dioxide is an integral part of the NATURAL breathing, exhaling, plant respiration cycle. Regardless, the left promotes fake science.
