Guys an idiot. If China and Russia and the communist world were to invade they would assault our borders eventually which includes the freakin’ southern border.

This general needs to lose his stripes. . .there is a war going on without a military presence. . .it is called disease, sex trafficking, murder, kidnapping, crimes against US citizens, drain on our economy, schools, etc. Such comments from him in my opinion are traitorous.

Time the Commander and Chief to have his troops drop this Canuck off at the border 40 miles from nowhere in drug cartel land and let him practice his survival training. If he can make it back on his own he can tell us what he has learned.

And he rose quickly through the ranks in, you guessed it, Obama's reign:

Brigadier General Nov. 2, 2009
Major General Aug. 2, 2013
Lieutenant General Dec. 19, 2014
General July 12, 2016

Another stellar appointment by President Trump.

Does everyone he hired to work in the “The Trump Organization” disagree with his business philosophy, too?

I’m sure he’ll put his money where his mouth is and head to the border to prove it...right?
Oh yeah, he’s a remf.

Ok, I take back the mean stuff I said about him, I just listened to about 30 minutes of his testimony. He pretty much backed up Trump and did not throw him under any buses. He merely said there was no traditional military threat at the moment from the south. But he did say securing the border was a big and wide reaching element of national security.

Then he went into a discussion about needing south facing radars that were scrapped after the cold war as Chinese threats from South America could materialize.

It pains me to defend a USAF general, but he was on board for troops to the border, and did not mite on several attempts to get him to dispute the National Emergency declared on the border.

But in my defense, I didn’t know that until I broke a FR rule and went to the source and listened to the whole testimony...or at least 30 min of it.

Now he just said he supported SecDef in shifting DOD dollars to the wall.
And he refused to take the bait that using those funds would hurt morale and readiness.

Listen to him and he is doing pretty good if you ask me.
It’s pretty clear he isn’t a sycophant of the Dems on the committee.

“O’Shaughnessy, who visited the southern border on Saturday with Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan, was careful to defer any assessment of the southern threat to the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection. He said that those agencies believe that more fencing can impact the movement of drugs across the border.

O’Shaughnessy said he would defer to DHS “on the character of the threat,” adding that Northern Command is trying to “be a good partner” as the other agencies take on the drug trafficking challenge. Asked if it is a national emergency, he said, it is a “national issue” that requires a “whole-of-government approach.“

OK.... It’s not a MILITARY threat. It is dire a threat to the nation however. That by definition makes it a threat that the military can and should be used to eradicate.
Stupid Air Force PC general.
