But that’s not retaliation for 911. It’s war as social- change experiment. At the cost of trillions of dollars and oceans of blood

A new AOC headline every hour on the hour. Don’t tell me she’s not a paid distractor.

I think AOC is a GREAT saleswoman for the GOP...

I’m not arguing with you there, that’s for sure. I think they were hoping for an avalanche of democracy, kind of like what happened in eastern Europe when the wall fell. But, these people were not Europeans. So much for all cultures being equal.

That seems to be the point, believe it or not.

My Democrat neighbor at the time kept rubbing it in that it was Saudi Arabia, the GOP sweetheart, that got a blind eye of lenity towards it when the people who masterminded the attack came from it.

That Democrat neighbor was right about that, but was he somehow less so because he was also a Democrat?

Be careful, because even stopped clocks will tell you the right time twice a day, and even blind squirrels find acorns.

Yes, as an example of military social engineering it was a bomb, pardon the pun please.

A Shah-type figure would have worked better in Iraq — a benevolent, but stiff, dictator. Somehow we still had Shah allergy? At least on the Democrat side?

Then we decided we were going to take the opportunity to fix the middle east and it all went south.

For most of thirty centuries nations have failed to "FIX" the middle east. It is truly broken. Its where big nations go to die.

A while back it was stated that it was the Saudi’s who were culpable, not Iraq or Afghanastan. Is that true or not?

If so, then Bush didn’t retaliate either.

Go back and see the many excuses for invading Iraq - WMD’s, spread democracy, regime change, etc.

Was Saddam responsible for 9/11?

Did GWB seal the borders after 9/11? Did he not insult our intelligence by claiming slam is a religion of peace over and over again?

Did the USA continue to purchase oil from SA and supply weapons?

Did not the 9/11 Commission whitewash much of it? Anyone go to jail? Anyone lose their job?

To play devils advocate... what has it gotten us? We’ve spent trillions with no end in sight. Afghanistan is a mess. Iraq seems stable but at a huge cost, and it turns out Saddam really was no threat to us and was keeping the crazies in check. Syria imploded, and refugees flooded Europe.

Oh, but we killed Bin Laden.

Two things

1. This wasn't only revenge. It freed Afghanistan from the Taliban. Life now in Afghanistan isn't great but it was infinitely worse under the Talibs

2. Let her keep talking. The more people will hear this and associate it with the Democrats, the less votes the Dims get

I was on fr from before 9/11. I supported the freezing of Afghanistan. I wasn’t and am not happy with the war to oust Saddam. That was a mistake in my opinion. It would have been better to take on Pakistan after Afghanistan

I hope her run is NOT finished. Please let her stay on and on. The more she talks, the more votes leave the Democrats
