She displays the most common scenario for military sexual assault. It is broadly understood that when a superior officer is involved, do not expect the victim to name names and expose herself to punishment, retaliation, and end of career..

Who knows, an allegation is not proof as we all know; but her account is very plausible.

She didn’t report being raped?

Perhaps she was willing and cooperative. Up to a point. Was she drunk? Did she go to his hotel room?

Women like her do a grave disservice to real rape victims. It’s like David Hogg claiming to be a survivor.

If she was really raped, then she should have killed the guy ASAP. Or filed charges then.

But to #MeToo this now? Pathetic.

I don’t understand. I was in the Air Force at the same time. I knew several women who came forward with accusations. Unfortunately, their accusations didn’t hold water since the men they accused of raping them were not in the same COUNTRY as them at the supposed time of the rape.

Still, particularly post-Tailhook, the military was quite open to accusations. When one of my Wing Commanders was promoted, it was revealed he was having sex with a Captian and had promised her help with her career. When he didn’t deliver, she accused - with times and evidence - and he was thrown out. She, OTOH, had no retribution against her - although she had been a willing partner for quite some time.

I saw no evidence the military was covering up rapes. Women who made accusations were handled with kid gloves.

Why is it irresponsible? I was sexually harassed at work when I had my first real job. The man in charge was Guy H. Anderson who work for Huber, Hunt, and Nichols on contract and as resident engineer for the new wastewater treatment plant in Sacramento County Dept of Public Works. Mr. Anderson reached and touched my breasts from behind. I was 19 years old. I didn’t know what to do. It was known by the few females who worked there that he was like that. One girl who was majoring in engineering at Sac state actually filed a complaint with Sac Co. That girl was actually told they, the County of Sacramento, wasn’t going to do anything about it because he was worth too much to the County at the time. They did move her to another trailer for the remainder of the startup construction. She graduated with a major in engineering and the County hired her to work at the plant. Mr. Anderson was gone at that point. The man was paid at 50 an hour, this was in 1979 and was also given consulting fees because he owned part of the company.

I believe her. Why? Because it happened to me. After the first girl who stepped forward with no resolution. What outcome would I or another female expect.

“BTW, is there enough meat on a toad’s ribs to meaningfully barbecue it?”

Depends on how much they can bench. And how much they drink. And how many toad’s come to the party.

The A-10 pilots I’ve met thought badly of her. So did I since I spent a ton of time in Saudi but, unlike McSally -”the first female fighter pilot” - I never got off of PSAB since no congress critters or higher ups invited people like me to Riyadh for Embassy parties.

OTOH, her marriage of a couple of years was annulled, and in Arizona, about the only reason for them to get an annulment would be no sex during their marriage - which might support the idea she had been traumatized. But if she HAD been attacked, the congresswomen of the time would have seen to it their pet fighter pilot was taken care off by the military justice system.

She wasn’t some obscure officer. She was the military’s darling. Unless the rape took place prior to her flight career, the idea that she could not have reported it for fear of consequences is stupid. Hell, she sued the Secretary of Defense - and was applauded for it! She was pampered her entire career. Her career included time as a “military advisor” to Sen Jon Kyle. She was very hi-viz her entire career.

The average man can break the average woman in half. The average very fit man can break the average very fit woman in half. To pretend otherwise is to deny science, to mock biology, and to risk harm to women. This is one of the harms.

“What outcome would I or another female expect.”

How many congresswomen did you know? Did you become a media darling by suing the SecDef? Had you spent time as an aide to a Senator?

I was 19 and in my first real job as a Stenographer for the County of Sacramento. After having had personal knowledge with one female who filed a complaint and the County of Sacramento doing basically nothing. What was I going to accomplish with the County of Sacramento by doing the same thing?

I believe her.

If she’s a feminist because she said she was raped and didn’t report then so are a lot of other women.

I wasn’t raped but I was sexually harassed at work and didn’t report it.

Guess I’m a feminist too huh?

So she’s supposed to be tough enough to be a leader in the military, and somebody forcibly rapes her, and she doesn’t have enough backbone the fight back right then, or in court? I guarantee this is another one of those she got really drunk and regrets doinking her boss “rapes”.
And I don’t buy this she doesn’t believe the system would support her BS. This is the same woman who filed a lawsuit against the Air Force for making her wear a head rag in Saudi Arabia. She’s not bashful about going up against the power structure. Total BS

Spot-on. If this dame had been raped, she could have ridden it to 4-Stars!

Drama Queen....Either prove it, or STFU...Better yet, just STFU.
