I have a book called “One of Our Commissars is Missing”. It documents the Stalin-era practice of eliminating people from photographs after they had become unmentionable. All of them google,fb,instagram,twit,apple,amazon,snapchat, and others need to be turned into utilities, like the phone company or the electric company

they supply the infrastructure and you get to choose what you see and do.

They scrub all kinds of political stories all the time. They scrubbed the Dems cutting OCO funding in 2007 necessitating the pullout of troops from Iraq. They did that in 2009-ish time frame as soon as things started to deteriorate there.
