Agree. Get all our troops out of there and tell Merkel she’s on her own.

End NATO now.

Pull out all other forces in Germany sans air bases and the hospital.

End NATO and how can you keep the air bases and the hospital?

I read sometime ago that Germany's military was in a steady state of decline. Enlistments were down , equipment was degrading, spare parts were hard to come by and over all military preparedness and capability were deteriorating and by and large the German people weren't concerned about it. In fact there was a collective bemusement about it it all as if it were a final and fitting repudiation of their militaristic past. If the Krauts aren't going to be serious about their military and their defense neither should we.

We could start moving our troops and bases out of Germany and relocate some of them to more worthy and welcoming countries like Poland. The rest we could just bring home.

Germany is out of control, a recent poll of German’s showed
anti American bias. Also, they have several Jewish hating politicians including the Sauerkraut Merkel.

Write to Trump (Tweet him) we need to have him know we all agree that we should take Poland’s offer immediately.

Why not just bring them all home? How practical is it to leave them hanging in Poland without a secure supply line back to the states?

Getting off cheap? We’re bankrupt.
Our military is exhausted over-extended and likely no longer capable of dealing with a peer-level threat.
For the money and lives spent, we’ve achieved nothing lasting in the Middle East and Trashcanistan.
Our allies are mostly worthless. (Koreans are not worthless... I’d stay there.)
There is no longer anything from which Europe needs protecting.
There is no longer any reason to protect Europe - it is self-destructing from internal issues. They are not even free countries anymore. They are not worth defending.
It is time to pack up and leave Europe.
And if they do decide to throw another General European War, this time we need to stay home and pop popcorn.

Why should Germany increase military spending? They face no external threat, only an internal threat.

The poles are offering to pay us to move our troops there! Why not?
.................................
I’m sure Hungary’s President, Viktor Orban, and Hungary’s citizens would welcome our troops with open arms.

If they do it, close a U.S. base, and withdraw the troops and equipment there back to the U.S.

Rinse, repeat every time she refuses.

This.

It is very easy to be butt-hurt about what East German Merkel is doing...and to forget or dismiss the unseen benefits of having expensive armies in Europe for the past 75 years. However, forgetting or dismissing something does not actually mean that it doesn’t exist.

That, of course, doesn’t mean that we cannot make Germany hurt a bit for its present actions. I am all in favor of reducing our spending in Germany to send them a return message.

Yup - move our forces from Germany to Poland, Hungary, and Czechoslovakia. F_ck Germany.

I agree completely, but don’t know if the Czech Republic and Slovakia would be receptive.

What, exactly, is the down side to letting Russia swallow Germany?
................................
Might be the best thing that could now happen to Deutschland, because the gruesome alternative could soon be a German caliphate ruled in accordance with Sharia law.

Because, in the event of conflict, we could not support our troops in Poland.

Why not?

Gosh, I’m so shocked to find out the Germans are greedy, spineless deadbeats who are counting on Uncle Sugar to provide their national defense for them so they can lavish more money on socialism and supporting millions of feral Muslims they’ve imported.

Time to bring the boys home and withdraw from Nato.

We’re not bankrupt.

Folks with credit card debt who are still servicing the accounts, are not bankrupt. Are we over-extended? I believe so. It could be remedied if our leaders had the will. They don’t, and in time that may cause us to be truly bankrupt. We’re not there yet.

Our military is just fine. It’s doing it’s job and it is getting more equipment from Trump.

Our military is capable of dealing with a peer level threat. Who could beat us at this moment? Nobody. I don’t like the way the past administrations allowed our military to languish, but that is being addressed right now.

Have there been any further mass attacks on United States soil? No. So there has been something achieved. Since 2001, seventeen years ago, the have been no ass attacks on U. S. soil.

We have pounded ISIS into submission, practically out of existence.

Yes, our allies are idiots. I can’t argue with that. I just find it hard to condemn them when we ourselves brought 100,000 Somalis to live in one of our states.

Is there anything here worth protecting any longer? Sometimes I think that’s the question that we might not be able to answer in the affirmative to in the not too distant future.

Yes, there is a reason to defend Europe, like them or not. We don’t want Islam, Russia, or China to be the ones controlling all the soil up to the doorstep to the United States from Britain, France, or Spain. We don’t want them controlling the Mediterranean either.

I agree with your emphasis on Europe deconstructing. Again, we’re doing much the same thing here.

We need to tell the U. N. to F O and quit playing along with the movement of non-compatible humans to the West, not just the U. S.

It’s not time to pack up and leave anywhere.

It’s up to us to lead. We have to get Europe to come to grips with what it is doing to itself. We have to maintain open ports and free water ways.

We cannot simply abandon major portions of soil on the planet to our enemies.

Like California, we need to find a way to bring back good values to those places. Our future depends on it.

I’m open to some form of message being sent.

I don’t want it to signal to the West’s enemies that they have an opportunity. (any more than they know that now anyway)

The message has been sent. Trump has no use for NATO and NATO has no use for Trump.

So why on Earth he suggested today that Brazil might become a NATO country is beyond me. To replace the U.S. perhaps?
