Will there be a period of self-examination, a hard and honest introspective look at where the press went wrong and how it can get better? Or will the media simply move on to the next scandal and start the sickening, maddening, process all over again?
There will be a period of self-examination after Trump sues the whole lot of them for libel. And not before.

You will say, “The precedent set in 1964 by the New York Times v. Sullivan SCOTUS decision rules that out.” My response is that I don’t think so - but if that is correct then there will never be "a period of self-examination, a hard and honest introspective look at where the press went wrong and how it can get better.” Never.

The big picture is that the intent of the First Amendment (so vigorously “defended” in Sullivan) is that (in Mao’s insincere but eloquent phrase) “Let a hundred flowers bloom, let a hundred thoughts contend.” And in reality (something which was not much bruited in 1964) we have a singular "media.” “Hundred Flowers!!!” The MSM wants us to hear ONE perspective - and when the choice is between a monopolistic “media” and a libel suit which blasts their singular perspective to smithereens, it is no choice at all.

I love the smell of victory in the morning...smells like napalm :)
Rush is correct in pointing out that - just as Comey outlined the reasons Hillary should have been prosecuted, then pulled a bait-and-switch with the law and announced that the law she violated did not mean what it says, Muller outlined the reasons why there was no need for Trump to obstruct justice - and then announced that he was not gonna say that Trump did not obstruct justice.

The unifying theme being that in both cases, proper prosecutorial conduct does not announce charges a prosecutor does not indict on.

Mueller had no business saying anything about obstruction at all. Trump didn’t have a motive, and Muller had insufficient, if even arguably any, evidence.

I think that even before the elections of 2008 & 2016, so many of us were able to see that neither Obama nor Hillary were people that should be in positions of power. It wasn’t hard to figure out that neither of them were qualified, and now we are vindicated. It’s long overdue.

The human caused global warming scam is an even bigger failure. Termite respiration alone generates 10 times more CO2 than all fossil fuel sources combined.

You're probably right on this one ...that would be bigger... But we still have to prove it to enough liberals to make it 'count'...

Mr. Moran is far too generous with the propaganda media. As a group they intend to destroy this Republic. There was no mistake with this, they intended to destroy President Trump. And they made every deliberate attempt they could to do so.

Yep. The author is delusional.

“How did the institution of American journalism fail so utterly to get it right? That used to be a tremendous source of pride for journalists. They felt a great weight of responsibility to the public to carefully ascertain the facts of a story and report those facts in a comprehensive and comprehensible manner. Analysis was supposed to be as objective as possible with speculation absent or kept to an absolute minimum.”

BS. The largest parts of the media haven’t been about facts for decades and probably longer. Attention grabbing headlines, covering up for Dems like FDR and JFK, lying about Reagan, coronating Odumbo and shilling for Hitlery are just a few examples. Not sure where the author has been but he surely does know what he’s talking about.
