True, we are at least treading, which was true under Reagan also, but not the Bushes. And if Trump wins next year and holds the Senate, then we may finally turn the corner!

Thanks, agree of course. There actually used to be conservative and centrist Democrats - they’re simply gone now...that party has been ‘cleansed’, which is why it is REALLY STUPID for our side to do anything that helps them.

If you don’t like the Republican candidate, deal with it in the Primary, and ONLY in the Primary.

Well said!

“There actually used to be conservative and centrist Democrats “

Correct. Zell Miller was a good example.

Historically, R’s and D’s both loved America, they just had different beliefs in how that love should be governed. R’s believed that less govt was the solution and D’s believed that more govt was the solution, but they still loved the USA unequivocally.

The democrat party today simply hates America. We just have to find a way to get the millions of democrat voters who actually love America but are hijacked into the current democrat agenda, into becoming R voters. I personally know many “democrats” that do not believe or follow the current democrat party path.

During the last Congressional term, some were calling for certain Republicans to be forced out of the party, thereby giving democrats control of the Senate. I kid you not.

This is why we must hold the Senate in 2020!

This is IMPERATIVE !!!!!!!!!!
It’s as important as Trump being elected, and regaining the House!

‘During the last Congressional term, some were calling for certain Republicans to be forced out of the party, thereby giving democrats control of the Senate. I kid you not.’

I know, I debated with at least one of them from Virginia. His thought was that if the RINO loses, then the party would be ‘purified’ and not try running more RINOs. Well, the RINO lost - was the party ‘purified’, never to run RINOs again, of course not. The party simply figured that the only way to win was to run RINOs who are FURTHER LEFT...needless to say that was futile, and any chance we had of holding seats went up in smoke, due to people ON OUR SIDE [and yes, I really do believe they were on our side], enabling Democrat victories.

So, you people who still sit out elections in November, because the Republican on the ticket isn’t perfect, GROW UP, you’re not doing anyone here a favor with your ‘principled’ stance, you’re only enabling the Democrats - and you need to accept that FACT. If you don’t like the Republican candidate, deal with it in the Primary, and ONLY in the Primary...when November comes, remember the party-line vote here, and the many other party-line and near party-line votes.

Grow up? You mean like Romney and the elected GOP Never Trumpers who were just fine with Hillary and her constitution destroying judges?

Sorry, loyalty is a two way street in my house. If Senator Romney has the right to “vote for his wife” to the benefit of Hillary Criminal and HER judges then unwashed serfs on the GOP plantation do that too.

Never Trumpism has forever changed the GOP and browbeating the GOP base into voting for the Chamber of Commerce approved candidates isn’t gong to work.

Republican Voter:

Agrees with candidate on 99 out of 100 issues....stays home because their pet issue isn’t the most important thing on candidates policy paper.

You’ve got it backwards. Smearing the GOP base while giving a pass to the progressive Democrat enabling GOP is hilarious. Show me ONE elected Democrat who did not support Obama for POTUS. So me ONE elected Democrat consistently opposed his party’s platform on major issues. You can’t.

You need to understand Never Trumpism has changed the GOP. Forever. The GOP establishment supporting Hillary, enabling the Mueller Coup, obstructing the MAGA agenda, etc., breaks the compact the base had with them. We support their candidates, they support ours. Now we can see the GOPe prefer progressive Democrats to us. The sooner you realize that the better.

Once you get outside the Beltway the actual number of NeverTrumpers is less then a Hellary or Biden Rally.
Total number nation-wide!) including the Beltway crowd wouldn’t fill a small college football stadium!

All they are, is loud! They’re only loud because so many of them are media-types or nearly that type so the have ready access to MSM microphones. Their loudness & media access masks their insignificant numbers.

I want to ask you a question, why the f*ck do you not think I understand or know that, you condescending ass?

I’m very much aware of the RINO/GOPe/Chamber of Commerce/Country Club Republicans that infect government positions at both the federal and state level. I’m very much aware of the Kristol, Wallace, Thune, Cornyn, Graham, Scott, Rubio, McCarthy, Ryan, etc etc etc etc. And that they’d rather rub elbows with their “elite” democrat counterparts than actually represent their constituents, the way they said they would when they were running for office. Especially, when there’s lots of money to be made.

I wasn’t talking about those morons and the NeverTrump voters, who will never change no matter what. Because like you, they think they’re the smartest people on the planet and if you don’t agree with them, well, you’re just dumb, right?

I was talking about the Single Issue voters that stay home because of one issue.

So, a Single Issue Republican stays home if they disagree on one single thing.

A Single Issue Democrat votes early and as often as they can if they agree on one thing.

It’s not a lot, but there are some on here that love talking down to folks. Make your point without being a pompous, pretentious Douchebag, would you? Is that possible?

LOL. Wrong. I am a life long GOP party line voter. Met McCain in his Senate office as kid. Voted for him. Happily voted for Romney. Happily voted for “Tea Party” Rubio. And what did that get me? McCain colluding with Democrats to defeat Trump. Romney “voting for his wife” over the GOP nom to the benefit of Hillary and her constitution destroying SCOTUS. Rubio voting no emergency on the border, etc., etc.

I no longer will be loyal to a party that does not respect my vote. It’s that simple. With the GOP openly enabling progressive Democrats and the progressive agenda it is no longer good enough to be the “not a Democrat” party. As we can see with the Mueller Coup, if grassroots conservatives ever get close to control the GOPe simply colludes with Democrats. The Age of Trump has shown us that the GOP is corrupt at its core and nothing will change that. Sorry.

If you CANNOT see the difference in the parties when it comes to judicial votes, you are simply hopeless.

But, thankfully, just about everyone else here can, and we’ll our best to make up for your ‘principled’ voting.

If you can not see the unconstitutional (and illegal!) Mueller Coup would not have existed for TWO YEARS without top cover enabling from the GOP there is no hope. And what GOP appointed judge pumped the breaks on Mueller? None of them!

If you think Democrats are going to alter their police state tactics because of a few McConnell approved “Trump” judges you are “simply hopeless.” This political battle between the establishement Uniparty and Main Street voters is about way more than a few judges. Your victory laps around judges who have yet to cast a vote in support of us shows how little the GOP has been delivering for its voters.

BTW, on the topic of judges: in what way has GOP appointed John Roberts addressed FISA court abuses? What the obama admin did is some of the most egregious police state tactic abuses of power in US history. The fact is Roberts has done no more or less than a Democrat would have done is quite revealing.

Politics today is simply a numbers game. There are no longer any Patriotic Democrats like Zell Miller. Blue Dog Democrats went the way of the Dodo Dodo Bird and the Wooly Mammoth.

Today all Democrat Politicians are Children of Satan and should be treated as such.

As someone said, (maybe it was me), Vote your Conscience in the Primary and Vote your Party in the General.

As Rush correctly points out: the GOP campaigns as a conservative and governs as liberals. Voting party line and enabling their America Last destructive behavior only encourages them to continue it.

I guess that I see having RINOs rather than Democrats in the Senate as something that may result in my kids and grandkids living in a country that is somewhat similar to what I grew up in.

But, obviously, your prefer a more ‘progressive’ country, given your preference to Democrats over RINOs.
