Wrong. This is unscientific witchdoctory and totally inappropriate.

I really don’t see an upside to replacing opiate addiction with cannabinoid addiction. Plus, the fact that marijuana has been shown to precipitate psychotic disorders when used by people whose brains are still developing (up until ~30 years old) and the other problems marijuana causes... this bill is insane.

If medical — and recreational — cannabis is already legal why was this bill necessary?

For 62% of people prescribed opiates, 600MG ibuprofen would work just fine.

This is a red flag to allow firearms to be confiscated, as marijuana is still illegal under federal law. If I lived in Colorado I would refuse any such prescription.

I don’t think marijuana is a pain killer

Oh, you'd be surprised. Works for me although not like opiates...but does work.

I really don’t see an upside to replacing opiate addiction with cannabinoid addiction.

Besides the facts that the former is significantly more addictive, and the only one of the two documented to have resulted in fatal overdose?

Cbd and thc work for chronic pain. Not for immediate acute pain. After surgery or dental work etc or broken arm you need opiates.

And to work on chronic pain, herbal medicines need 2-3 months to build up in the body’s receptors. I use cbd from real cannabis and it works. But it took months to make that difference and it wouldn’t help short termmacute pain.

probably won’t have much impact since docs are licensed to prescribe by the Feds (where pot is still illegal), and very few docs that aren’t already “pot” docs are going to want to risk their livelihood over something like this ... heck, it’s even hard to find a doc to prescribe low dose naltrexone, which is nothing more than an off-label use of an existing medication ...

No insult meant. I don’t think I’ve ever had opiates and I had but a little weed in my teens.

But I feel like it’s saying hey you can have willow bark tea instead of heroin today it sounds to me almost completely useless.

I mean I know it gives you a buzz. So does wine. If I’m in opiate worthy pain a glass of wine won’t do anything for me.

I used a higher grade of cannabis than usual after my recent knee surgery. Very nice. I filled the Percocet script they gave me but didn’t use any of it.

“I take it. I love it. It reduces my pain at night. I took Vicodin and it worked great. Then one day it was gone and the pain management doctor told me there was nothing he could do.

There are so many of us in this predicament. I chose the medical stuff.”

We know over a dozen so called senior citizens who use the CBD cream with excellent results.

Correct, a HIGH person is just one out of the “realty” of Pain. When they come down, the same Pain is still there. It has more promise as a PSTD use than as Pain Med use.

I don’t care what the SO called Experts say, my younger cousin in Mass both smokes Weed and has a Morphine PUMP, which she would NOT need if Weed actually worked on PAIN. CBD oil is more for Neuropathy than PAIN. Kratom a tea extract they want to ban, having tried both Neither work on PAIN of more than Level 4. Not Post Surgical or Intractable Pain which is a Level 10, 24/7/365 for LIFE. Only a Pain Med will do that. Many have died of the FORCED TAPERS of both Heart Attacks and Suicide, that includes 20 of our Veterans a day, the younger War wounded are surpassing the Senior population.

Imagine you are 78 break a Hip and all the Pain Med you get is a lousy Tylenol tablet post surgery and through Rehab. Pharmacies like Walgreen’s, CVS, and Walmart are refusing to Fill Cancer Stage 4 victims Morphine scripts. https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2019-05/uops-pmp052219.php?fbclid=IwAR0jbPtqMLN4f-On1_oy-SktMI36OqHZWlkBaiZBHF7Zr7yUaTC1DNFtV7Q There are 100 PAINFUL Autoimmunes that are disabling, 10 Million are Fibromyalgia patients.
