Ginsberg hasn’t been seen in months. Her clerks are probably writing her decisions. She is not cured of lung cancer they just slowed it down. Soon it will pop up in some other organ. I’m surprised she recovered from that last lung surgery.
There is nothing preventing a president from appointing a Supreme Court justice at any time during their presidency, all BS about a "Biden Rule" to the contrary not withstanding. McConnell didn't act on Garland because he didn't want to. He'd act on a Trump appointment next year should the opportunity arise because he does want to.

A bunch of FReepers keep telling me that Trump will replace the far-left Ruth Bader Ginsburg with a rock-solid proven pro-life conservative, even though he wouldn't even replace REPUBLICAN judges with rock-solid proven pro-life conservatives.
It reminds me of the "logic" that we needed to get behind Anhuld because he was "the only kind of Republican who can WIN a state like California", but then he'd somehow magically "deliver the state to Bush in 2004".
I'd put the odds of Ginsberg being replaced by a Scalia clone in the same camp.
