If I got an extra $4500 a year I would definitely call it a raise.

I'll ask my boss, and see if he agrees it's not 'like a raise'................

Considering congress house members
only “work” 138 days a year,
their average salary is $1270 per
day. Over that 138 days, a $4500
raise adds $32 per day to the
$1270, bringing it close to $1300
per day. Granted, the overworked
congress politician doesn’t get
time and a half for overtime....

It’s enough to like buy a used car or pay for like most of an orthodontist regimen, like.

[ The freshman Democrat wants more money in her paycheck, calling it a cost of living increase rather than a raise. ]

Just as long as the useful idiots in the Democrat Party keep supporting her.....

It would be hilarious if this were a movie.

It's sort of important to them to make the distinction. If it were a raise, they couldn't be paid until after the next election. 27th Amendment:

No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened.

However, cost-of-living isn't covered, and it's already been adjudicated. Convenient, no?

State retirees haven’t had a so much as a cost of living raise in forever. While working for the state, there hadn’t been a raise in 14 years.

For all their yapping about the evils of capitalism and the nasty rich, there are none so greedy in the whole wide world as progressive/socialists, who see nothing wrong whatsoever in helping themselves to other people’s money for their own purposes, wrapping the deed in hot-air morally-superior rhetoric to try to hide their avarice from themselves and others........

From bar wench to bubble-headed tyrant, this broad needs to be knocked off her throne.

I hope her constituents ditch the Democrat party some day.
