Like CA, people here in Northern Nevada want to sever the state so as to cut Las Vegas loose.

New York Democrats who voted for higher taxes in New York are NOT welcome in Florida. They can stay put with their taxes, late term abortions and corrupt politicians. We don’t want them in Florida.

Do NOT come here. We'd like to keep it sweet, not sour.

Unfortunately, making an unpopular Tax decision at the Federal Level impacts our retention of House Seats in Conservative areas within the Blue States.

Maybe. Maybe not. In any case, it was a good thing to do.

Your comment about the high tax states is spot on. Those of us who live in them and post here deserve support, not derision. Furthermore, the problem is spreading, and if we don’t collectively solve the problem, we will loose our country.

Liberals cannot drive a car in traffic or any condition as far as I can tell. I live in Charlottesville and it’s bad. When their brains stop functioning all together (which is often) and they’re behind the wheel of a car they stop in the middle of the road. I don’t even bother beeping the horn or anything anymore, I just go around them.

The Federal government was subsidizing a whole lot of bad liberal government policy at the state level.

Very good point as witnessed in forever blue NJ which essentially is not a state anymore but federal province. Everything is blamed on President Trump especially the tax cuts for the "rich".

I have seen it with my own eyes.

I was stationed in the Washington DC area for 7 years.

First, I lived in Maryland. Very liberal state. Then I lived in Washington DC on Bolling AFB. I had to have my license plates my new car in DC. What a bureaucratic nightmare! Took most of the day to get an annual inspection and plate renewal. Then I moved to Northern Virginia. At first, it was moderate, or least a lot less liberal than DC/Maryland. BUT, that changed. “Refugees” from both places brought their stupid politics with them.

Nowadays there’s hardly a thin dime’s difference between the politics of all three locations. AND they want to make DC a state.

But the majority of the same folks you say we should help keep voting for the democrats who are harming them with high taxes.

I don’t want to help those who are not only harming themselves, but me, too, and us, in who they put into national office.

And now each of the 25 or so democrat presidential candidates are promising to rescind the 2017 tax cuts and even raise more taxes on us all.

I’m not sure we could do anything like you suggest if the democrats win in 2020.

Which is why I stated that the SALT Deduction should stay but it should be raised to $20,000 (maybe $25,000) to protect Middle Class Homeowners.

My old GOP Congresscritter tried to get it doubled but his Amendment to the Bill went nowhere. The only reason is it $10,000 and not ZERO is because GOP Senator Susan Collins insisted on it.

I think a proposal was made by the House Rats to make the SALT Deduction limit $24,000 which matches the new Standard Deduction for two Adults in a Household. I agree with it.

The Wealthy Liberals who support the Rats in the high Tax Blue States are the ones who should be impacted by this, not the Middle Class (Conservatives and Liberals) who live in those same States.

Not all the Middle Class Conservatives, including my old Neighbors who Voted Rat for the first time, can just move out of CA. As someone said years ago, all Politics is local.

I got nailed on my State and Federal Taxes selling a Rental Condo in CA.

Even if you live in it for two years within the five years before the Sale, you still have to pay Capital Gains on the Depreciation you took while owning it.

In the old days you avoided repaying the Depreciation AND the Gain on the Sale by living in it for those two years. No more, you always pay the Piper. Cost me a mint.

I’m in NY for more than half a century. The assholes here that continue to vote for the Democrat scumbags deserve every hardship they suffer. To Hell with them.

I still would be opposed. My state does NOT charge an arm and a leg in property taxes. Why should my taxes subsidize those whose states do this?

The clear thing to do is oppose those state politicians who spend like drunken sailors and elect those with fiscal responsibility who will lower property taxes, not have people in all the other states who govern responsibly pay for all your state’s welfare and Leftist do-good spending.

Everyone keeps telling us to move. Get out of California! I got a mail on here the other day from someone saying....move! Now!
I’ve been here long enough to know what happened to our state. And I see it slowly happening everywhere else. I’m with you. Why move when in a few years the place we move will be almost as bad as here? A lot of states are turning purple and most people will be shocked at how fast they’ll go blue after that. I don’t think there’s any stopping it and have decided to just stay put.

Anything will be better than work now. I live in Sussex county, a very red county. Redder than most red counties in red states. Dems cannot get elected for any reason.

I work in a super blue area and it turns my stomach.
