Spain colonized much of “the Americas.” Blame them, not the USA.

At this rate in about 10 years all the historical items will be removed. Then when someone complains that the USA was founded by racist, I’ll yell “Show me one item from that period to prove it!”

Many of the Mexican population are of Spanish decent. In fact, they are the dominant class with much lighter skin than the native descendants in Mexico. This Identity Politics is just more Cultural Marxism designed to segment society into opposing tribes.

Destruction of 21st century men, and woman, is happening - the calls to chase people out of restaurants and harass them for their political beliefs; to deny people engaged in legal activities banking services; doxxing civil servants and custodians of public trust and attempting to deprive them of a livelihood; and even the ‘privilege’ to post ideas on communications networks (facebook, google for example) are just some examples off the top of my head that are part of the effort to destroy people - many of whom have fairly innocuous ideological theories but who simply do not conform to the whims of the very agitated mob (a mob which I might add likely holds the minority view in most cases).

They think nothing of comparing the current POTUS to a genocidal maniac like Hitler and for what? Because he inherited a policy of separating children that was implemented 20 years ago and has been followed ever since? Not to mention that the government was forced into this decision by the mob’s ideological predecessors who wanted to protect children from being abused by smugglers; AND nevermind that the POTUS signed an executive order to stop this activity almost immediately when he learned of it; AND that his hands are tied tied because the mob’s ideological predecessors signed a consent degree binding the government to this decision in the eyes of the courts. I say this not to defend one decision over the other but merely to support your point that we are witnessing an irrational zealotry motivated purely for partisan (and not even or always ideological) advantage - not reason or reasonableness, not principle or policy, not justice, not fairness nor equity. Just zealotry for the sake of political advantage and the power the zealots are presumed to bestow on those fomenting the mob.

It’s comical, and wrongheaded. They (we) could turn all these monuments into educational opportunities. The technology exists right now that if you were to approach a statue or a monument you could download one of any number of podcasts or video streams or interactive educational seminars and learn something.

Whether you are for or against or ambivalent towards any particular idea, destroying the record of history is imo a pretty bad idea. We do not want to erase the history of good deeds - all the sacrifices people made to free Europe from Fascism or who fought to end slavery or keep the country from division are lessened if we simply try to erase the memory of things they fought against.

The mob is emotional, not rationale. They act in ways antithetical to reason. They wish to cover things up rather than expose them. And they have no true vision for how great things can really be because their reflexive reaction is to repress instead of to enlighten. All of these monuments could serve a great many positive purposes but these people are not interested in empowerment they are interested in control.

Probably the most stereotypical ‘college students’ activism on pointless issue to feel important and like they’re changing things’ story I’ve ever read.

"The destruction of Confederate statues is not just a reaction but also a tool for social control."

True that.

She is selective about her opposition to ‘colonization’.
Same as with others regarding Islamic and Communist imperialism around the world.

This is what the student loans these uneducated, unwise and ungrateful bullies demand taxpaying American citizens pay off are used for ... and the equally uneducated, unwise and ungrateful bullies who comprise the college administration support this despicable behavior.

It’s true - many of them kept the original architecture and the bell. We live in strange times; the architecture and bells that offend college students make a living for many Hispanic entrepreneurs and attract patrons of all types. Doesn’t feel very ‘white colonial’ to me but who am I to presume to know more than a 19 year old college kid?
