The epicenter was close to Trona. A total shiitehole. It probably looks better AFTER the shaker.

A few miles from Trona. Level that town and it would be an improvement. More than a few meth labs had chemical spills I’m sure. We call it A-Hole Acres.

Nobody can predict such things, but I always get a bit antsy when I see movement in regions that may affect our large western faults.

I hear what you're saying and I always have the same concern. Yet I've also been worried that the unusually long stretch between significant SoCal quakes was allowing stresses to build up to a dangerous point.

It's always a slight relief to me when that stress is released in quakes like this done, especially if they're in fairly unpopulated areas. The same quake here on the coast would have been very damaging and perhaps deadly. Luckily it was a sudden "Thank you Mom" rolling bump at my house, and no one appears to be hurt near the epicenter.
