I think I heard the word Red in the lyrics of this one. Swearsies.
I’m not trying to go all career outlaw on the selection criteria. Really.
But, it’s the 4th and... America!

This version of "White Christmas" was probably recorded after the instrumentalists went out on strike in the summer of 1942--which resulted in a string of hits for the Song Spinners, who sang harmoniously with such skill that they didn't need instruments. It also is one of the few versions that contains the verse:
The sun is shining, the grass is green,
The orange and palm trees sway.
There's never been such a day
In Beverly Hills, L. A.
But it's December the 24th
And I'm longing to be up north.

Gene Autry, "
Red River Valley," 1946. We had to learn it in fifth or sixth grade as part of the canon of quintessential American songs and I still love it. It's a great love song.
