Too hard to dig through all those white sheets.
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court."Corruption of Blood" punished the families for the crimes of an individual, and was banned in the Constitution for the only capital crime mentioned in the Constitution. The Congress shall have power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.
One could make a good case that if Corruption of Blood was forbidden for the highest crime in the land, it is also forbidden for everything inferior.
Punishing a descendent of a slave owner for the acts of a great-great-grandparent would be corruption of blood and unconstitutional.
I would further argue that forcing taxpayers to pay reparations today is a form of corruption of blood, and is also unconstitutional.

Every person on this planet has ancestors that owned slaves and ancestors that were slaves themselves, it’s a mathematical certainty.
And?
H.m with a name like Siemaszko could his great great grandfathers been involved in some progroms?
Enough for a soccer scrimmage.
Here we go again. The race baiter’s Merry-Go-Round. All oiled up and ready to whirl. See the little donkeys go up and down.
So? Jesus were getting so fn weird here...
The leftist media, like nbc, is our enemy.

Okay. I try to keep up on things, but I’m missing something here. What does this have to do with anything? My 3rd great-grandfather owned a few slaves in Tennessee. I am the family genealogist and I am the one who found it out. What am I supposed to do about it? I would have tried to talk the old man into freeing them, but he died 92 years before I was born.
I waded through 19 posts to find the exact word that first came out of my own mouth!
Mooch’s ancestors did too.
Enough of this blaming others for things that ended over 150 years ago.
If you cant get over it, renounce your citizenship and go back to your home country.
Yep. If the descendants of slaveowners are to owe compensation to the descendants of slaves.....shouldn’t the descendants of slave traders have to indemnify the descendants of slave owners?
As it is a lot of New Englanders made a huge amount of money selling slaves and never had to disgorge so much of a penny of that unjust enrichment. The federal government did not come and seize or destroy their property and steal their money.
....................and?
NBC Breaking News has a new mission.
Searching 150 year old ancestry records.
Aaaaand this!
Breaking news! Breaking news!
Neat. How many slaves do the Demonrats own today ?"Sen. Mitch McConnell's great-great-grandfathers owned 14 slaves"
The real point is, 100% of the slave owners were Democrats. And only the barest handful of Southern Democrats switched to Republican, nearly all died as Democrats in good standing. Mitch McConnell is a Republican.
And then there is this: No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.
