Why doesn’t PR open its borders to refugees or even white liberals? You would think they would be open to inclusion and diversity but all I ever hear out of PR pols is hatred for America.

Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva (D-Ariz.), chairman of the Natural Resources Committee that oversees Puerto RicoTake a look at their website
Natural Resources Committee
Looks like a lefty operation. I bet an audit of these SOBs would expose numerous crimes.

I live “down here” and no, the whole island is not corrupt. It’s the political class we are held hostage by that’s chronically corrupt. And the problem is that both major political parties are equally corrupt, and they just trade places every four years.
What we need here is sort of a denazification program like they did with Germany after the war. No one who had ever held an active role in either the PPD or PNP parties should be able to hold public office or get close to public funds, ever. Not them, their children or their grandchildren.

I have a local friend whose family is from Puerto Rico and where he still has relatives & visits there often enough each year. On more than one occasion he has said Puerto Rico’s biggest problem is corruption. We may not always agree on U.S, domestic politics, but that hasn’t changed how he views what is wrong in Puerto Rico.
