Does this stupid edict also eliminate man-centric words with a NEGATIVE connotation like gunman, manhunt, manslaughter, etc.?

They better change the name of the town, also.
From Wikipedia, it was named after, OH MY!, a man
According to the Centennial Record of the University of California, “In 1866
at Founders’ Rock, a group of College of California men watched two ships standing out to sea through the Golden Gate. One of them, Frederick Billings, thought of the lines of the Anglo-Irish Anglican Bishop George Berkeley, ‘westward the course of empire takes its way,’ and suggested that the town and college site be named for the eighteenth-century Anglo-Irish philosopher.”[15] The philosopher’s name is pronounced BARK-lee, but the city’s name, to accommodate American English, is pronounced BERK-lee.[16]

I guess that they have too much university education to know that “man” comes from the German and means “person/human being.” Its use to mean “male” is only from the 11th century. Nevertheless, the original generic meaning remains with the specific male meaning.
To: Red Badger
Well, there are certainly no males in Berkeley to object.

Life is already better in Berkeley today. The sun came up earlier, the birds sang louder, crime vanished, homelessness gone, the streets are clean enough to eat off of, all is wonderful in Berkeley. Sort of like cities that have taken down the Confederate statues. The difference is wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It fascinates me that Berkeley has so few problems that they have time to spend on such a thing!

These frauds have a serious problem that must be addressed before they can become truly gender neutral and thats the male name of their politically correct, whacked-out, Left-wing city.
Established in 1868 by an Irish bishop George Berkeley, the University and city bear his name! Drats! Are these council members aware of their citys inconvenient history? What are they going to do to address this historical error?
Bishop George Berkeley was probably celebate, but thats not the same as neutered, so to make Berkeley gender neutral should the city council change its name?
