Oberlin has $887.4 million assets under management as endowment, as compared to $820.3 million the previous year, an increase of $67.1 million. The increase is comprised of earnings on the endowment and new donor contributions.

The question is, will Oberlin be able to raise more money from donors based on this judgment or less?

Sell the real property to Hillsdale.

The bakery can have a long lasting business relationship with Hillsdale.

The bakery can donate some of its money from Oberlin to Hillsdale for their expansion.

If we are dreaming of winning we may as well dream big.

That would be like turning a mosque into a church!

Or turn it into affordable housing for bums. Although it’s not far off from being just that.

Make the Administration, especially the President, Deans, Regents, and Diversity Coordinators, *personally* liable.

Seize and auction off everything but their underwear.

Problem solved!

Endowments probably can’t be used fo pay for malfeasance or whatever it’s called, they aren’t setup for things like that. That’s a big no-no I’m sure. They sure stepped in it. One would think parents and prospective students would think twice or even three times about attending the school much less donating.

And over a garden variety, simple theft. Colleges are some of the biggest rackets going these days. Talk about crooks.

I think that most of the time the endowments can be borrowed against .

They have some fluidity
and assets.

Here's the problem - Oberlin will use their judgment loss to raise money, meanwhile Oberlin alumni will be flexing against those Appeal Court judges. That's got to be stopped, and Oberlin needs to be warned that any attempt at judicial intereference results in a complete seizure of all Oberlin assets, forfeiture of the bond, and a disgraced immediate shutdown of the college.

This judge did an awesome thing. Wonder what his history of rulings are.. This ruling intrigues me enough to check his record. If it’s as good as this, I’d say, he needs to move up in the world.

The unsaid MAGA biggie here is the legal precedent it establishes which future affected “accused of racism/ism/ism/adnauseum “ defense attorneys and judges can point to and guide them.

And to think, Oberlin could have avoided this with a simple apology after the initial protests. That is what the Gibsons originally asked for.

The Gibson’s legal team was on the ball with this one. They did a great job, did their homework, argued clearly and concisely, and very persuasively.

They could make a fortune repeating their performance with other abusive colleges and universities across the US, and in doing so, rattle these leftist institutions down to their bones.

Their endowment value was boosted by ... wait for it ... the TRUMP economy!

The facts in this case were somewhat unique - it's not going to be that often that other schools are going to be stupid enough to have a dean on a bullhorn yelling inflammatory statements and directing a protest at a private business off-campus.

There are a lot of folks affiliated with that College who are not happy at all with the actions of Dean Raimondo. Normally, you can't hold a school liable for the actions of students. But her presence there, and the statements the bakery's witnesses said she made over that bullhorn, sank the college's defense.

The compensatory and punitive damages of $25 million (after reduction for tort reform caps), plus the over $6.5 million in attorney’s fees and costs, put Oberlin College almost $32 million in debt to Gibson’s Bakery and its owners.

Justice for the 'little people'... doesn't happen often but it sure feels great.

From the many delightful comments after the article:

What would be offered as collateral to the bond issuer?

How about a dinner date with Twillie, a private viewing of Raimondo’s tats, a wine tasting event with Aladin, and a one-on-one legal discussion and e-mail tutorial session with Varner.

[ok, I’ll stop being so silly:)]

That’s a great point and should be focused on! Why will the petty tyrants at Oberlin fight this tooth and nail? They see their commie brethren who run the media losing $$$ hand over fist to print their propaganda on a daily basis. The other indoctrination centers are watching Oberlin wondering if they’re next! They are. Just like the dimwits will never stop trying to impeach Trump, even after he’s out of office, dead and buried...it’s all they have. What a sad existence!

Just like Rush says the media are the political wing of the US Commie party, the people who run the indoctrination centers are the indoctrination wing. They're all essentially the same with different roles. The problem normal people have with this is a: they think logically; b: they're too busy living a normal life to take them selves down a notch.

Someone said inside a liberal is just a fascist trying to get out. IMO this Oberlin is just the start of the downfall of the commie educrats. I hope I'm correct!
