When the fundamentalists (not conservatives) took over the SBC Baylor was saved by moving it under the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The Texas Baptist General Convention is indeed Christian.
They just didn’t let the 4000 year old earth crowd gain control. Very lucky also since the ringleader of that takeover Paul Pressler turned out to be a homo pervert seducing boys.
At least they bought a little breathing room. But looks like they have been swallowed up by the left.
One of the greatest snow jobs ever was the takeover of the SBC being called “conservative”. They simply grabbed onto the term in the Reagan era because it was powerful.
The SBC was a loose affiliation with no control over churches, and it was mostly a central point for cooperation in missions.
The fundamentalist heretics wanted a powerful central organization and a top down theology that is an anathema to what the Baptists always were.
Calling that bunch “conservative” is roughly equivalent to those calling McCain, Sasse, Ryan and Romney “conservative”. And lead by a homo, they started the process that has basically destroyed the SBC as respectable.
Baylor almost escaped the damage from this bunch of nuts for a while, but it was a 20 year deferment at best.
I wish one of these anti-gun groups would explain how they plan to keep illegal guns from flooding across our borders into the hands of criminals.
The graduation in prayer hating on white men was proof they went full SJW and abandoned Christian doctrine.
Baylor needs to drop “Christian” from their name.
