I’m also looking at a Colt M4, which I like more, at this point. Just not decided yet. Thanks for the info. =:-)
IMHO:
Your first AR should have a 5.56 NATO chamber, and should be very “standard”. For the obvious SHTF ammo and parts reasons.
Your second, third, etc. ARs should be whatever floats your boat.
But get the 5.56 first.
IMHO.
NO, Mona, I WILL NOT COMPLY. What will you do then? YOUR MOVE.
Yeah, no Glock 18s for us. I did get to shoot one, though. PURE FUN! I was able to hold it on target just fine, but then I’m an IDPA shooter.
Agree with NorthMountain. Get a 5.56 AR-15 (also chambers .223) first. Build one from parts if you have to, but get one.
Tell liberals that by this logic, miniskirts, short-shorts, and tank tops should be banned because they make women look like they "want it" and "had it coming."

So, the old lever-actions were never used in battle? Bolt-actions are just for hunting game? Shotguns? The 1911? A revolver? Glad these were never designed to be like weapons of war...
You obviously mean a nice walnut stock and forearm on an AR15 style rifle, right?
Otherwise, you're modifying the part of the basic rifle design in a way that it no longer functions the same way. IOW, we see where you're going which proves you're no where near as clever as you think you are.
Obviously, you think "Constitutional Gun Control" means applying the same approach of gradual surrender to the anti-gun crowd that you've personally applied to every other issue those same anti-American scum have whined about as long as it didn't directly impact your personal net worth.
Sounds good to me! A Hellcat or new 700HP mustang with front mounted ARs:-)
Thanks for the advice. A family member picked up an Armalite in 5.56 about a year ago and it seemed like decent quality. I think I’ll go that route.
“Could that have all been for show? Cosmetics? Optics?”
Couldn’t have been that the building wasn’t secure, and they did not know if there was more than one shooter? Perhaps they intended to douse the lights and go in dark.
I don’t know
The only other thing I could think of is the dept is heavily endorsed by equipment manufacturers and they were using that as a photo up for future ads and endorsement money.
National Review is trash.
So if we all had “sporterized” wood stock M1s and M1 Carbine, the commie ‘Rats would would be good with it? Lady, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I’ll sell you.
Exception being an AK-47...I’ve seen some in shops that were absolutely shot out, more smoothbore than rifle, that were practically given away.
You havent bought one in a while then. Theyre way more expensive than ARs now, even the crappy ones.
Just what we need... someone who doesn’t know squat about guns telling us all about guns.
Not one LEO shot fired in El Paso. They’re proud of that.
No LEO went into Walmart? That was pre-Columbine procedure.
Establish a perimeter and wait. For correct procedure, see Dayton, Ohio. 30 second direct pistols blazing response.
Just exposing that she was a fake conservative, and was always a moderate.
Can we make NR send back its “Conservative Card” and lump it in with New Republic and Mother Jones?
“Ive come to believe that the 19th Amendment was a very bad idea.”
It was a bad idea long before you or I took issue with it.
I have always considered 1913 as the worst year in American history from the standpoint of the implementation of the income tax, sixteenth amendment, the Federal Reserve and the ratification of the Seventeenth Amendment that fundamentally changed the way the Federal Government and States were supposed to operate. All done during a very Progressive era.
If that wasn’t enough the Progressive era compounded the problems by less than six years later instituting the 18th Amendment whose ratification was virtually driven by woman, and just more than a year later giving those same women the vote. Just more evidence why Progressive philosophy is nothing to play around with.
It was a long haul to the depresion era before the eighteenth Amendment was repealed in 1933. If the country knew what was good for it, it should have repealed the 19th Amendment at the same time for womens influence in getting the 18th Amendment ratified to begin with.
Notice NR is smart enough not to put a “Comments” section on that piece of trash.
