WHEN I hear the “gun control” conversation I END it by asking a few questions based on the following data:
Alcohol-Related Deaths:
An estimated 88,0008 people (approximately 62,000 men and 26,000 women8) die from alcohol-related causes annually, making alcohol the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States. The first is tobacco, and the second is poor diet and physical inactivity.
In 2014, alcohol-impaired driving fatalities accounted for 9,967 deaths (31 percent of overall driving fatalities).
Economic Burden:
In 2010, alcohol misuse cost the United States $249.0 billion.
Three-quarters of the total cost of alcohol misuse is related to binge drinking.
GUN Related Deaths
The CDCs Wonder database shows that in 2017, 39,773 people in the US lost their lives at the point of a gun.
60%(22,063)are by SUICIDE. 15,910 are shootings.
88,000 people die by alcohol.
16,000 people die by a shooting not self inflicted.
I simply ask:
With 5X MORE Americans dying because of alcohol rather than guns where is the outcry to ban and confiscate alcohol? Alcohol abuse costs the US $250,000,000,000 a year. What else could that money be used for besides the damage caused by alcohol?
The response: CRICKETS. I then say a bottle of booze and a loaded gun are equally harmless sitting by themselves OR in the hand of a responsible adult. The problem always comes down to WHO is handling them.
If it (ammo) is all that bad, WHY are they waiting until the stock runs out?
If not going to sell, CEASE ALL SALES NOW!
Show some ‘conviction’ in your argument.
As to Aldi and ‘no carry’, don’t forget, it is called CONCEALED CARRY for a reason.
NO store etal will EVER know I am armed unless I am wanded or searched.
That said, if ‘they’ EVER find out that I am breaking policy, I will be getting a lot of thanks and attaboys as the ONLY reason I would ever draw is to stop an immediate threat that has basically started.
They are just embarrassed because ammunition is the only thing they sell thats made in the USA.
Dear Walmart. I see JC Penny in your future.
Better to get it from Cheaper than Dirt, AmmoLand, etc. I don’t buy anything from Field & Streams or its parent company.
Going the way of Dick’s. So sad to see Walmart do this.
I want to see what the reaction to this policy is going to be up here in Northeast Kingdom. Open carry is so common; wonder what the blowback will be?
I suspect the open-carry advocates up here will challenge this. We’ll see.
Well, I’ll never set foot in another Walmart.
Not good.
They’ll be shooting themselves in the foot.
Hogs nationwide are VERY hungry . . .
Great news! To hell with Walmart! We all need to support our local gun shops or at least companies on our side (such as budsgunshop.com or ammunitiondepot.com) Walmart can drop dead.
Alaska Ping.
Screw Wal-Mart, I’ll roll my own.
I’m glad Wal Mart is ending sales of ammo and guns. That’s means more business opportunities for local and private entrepreneurs.
Walmart just got fired.
They have been making it impossible to shop there with many items from Shampoos, to razors, Allergy medicines and I can’t recall everything, in which they lock it up in a cabinet, you have to wait forever to get the cabinet unlocked, then they sequester said items in plastic boxes (if they can find them) and inform you they will there until shopping is finished and then you can pay for them there but, you still have to the regular register for everything else.
And quite often, the sequestered item has to be run down because no one recalls were their colleague put them.
So, no ammo, no guns, idiotic selection of other sporting gear and camping gear.
Crap selection of tools
And I have no idea what they did to the gardening section.
Eff em.
Target is way easier to shop at.
As are Target, .99 cent store, $1 dollar store, Safeway, Ralphs, hell, just about anywhere....
Hammers and knives and liquor kill more people so when will Wallmart stop selling those items.
Walmart is set to end sales of handguns in Alaska!!!
Now the bears and wolves will take over and hunt humans!
500 rds 9mm. 85.00
450 rds 5.56 80.00
Just bought both in local wally world.
Let us show them that WE are the masters, not the slaves!
We certainly affected Target's bottom line when they allowed male perverts to use ladies rest rooms!
Let's do the same to Wal*Mart!
Tell your FRiends, neighbors, relatives, business associates, church members: BOYCOTT WAL*MART!
We can do this!
