My question is if you are not on Social Media, what will they use for a score?

Everyone does... FreeRepublic is social media. A Yahoo!/Outlook/Gmail account is social media... missing platforms are just as telling as ones that exist.

Perhaps - but anonymity on disparate platforms doesn’t allow what you’re talking about, unless there are warrants requesting deeper information on the various accounts here.

anonymity

You're kidding right? I've worked in eCommerce for over 20 years, almost since the web began, for fotune 100 companies.

Despite folks best efforts (Tor, Brave, etc etc etc), it's very easy to establish who you are and what sites you visit. This is shared and accessible to anyone who wants it.

If you visit our site, I know who you are with almost 100% certainty and that you visited here and everywhere else.

People do not realize what data is shared... I know, we share and consume it. You're anything but anonymous.

So a site like Freerepublic you could do that too? What if there are no trackers here?

I can’t speak for Brave, although I do use it on my phone for its ad blocking capabilities, but I also run my own tor relay.

Each browser session on the Tor Browser offers a new fingerprint via several measures and disables javascript by default. I know you’re proud of your technical skills, but with small changes in one’s browsing habits, you anonymous.

1) There are on FR, and 2) Cookies are the most obvious way, but not one we've used in marketing data for a long time.

Here's what will really bake your noodle... even if you use cash we can tie those transactions in almost any retailer in the world, even if you've never used our platforms before. It's absolutely terrifying, but it all already exists and there is no putting the cat back in the bag...

A third party site can’t access FR’s cookies, why are you lying?

I’d like to hear more about your second point, as that sounds even further out of this world.

LOL... your phone is unique and the marketing data doesn't depend on browser traffic. That data is purchased and shared from ISP's, wireless carriers, Home Depot, Kroger and is all cross referenced, easily.

You're assuming cookies are how you're being tracked.

That’s precisely what the tor browser is designed to deter. I wasn’t specifically talking about the phone, although I’m sure you are correct about that, but on Windows for example, it changes its window size upon start up every time, which is but one of its features of preserving anonymity.

These are computer scientists that design this, not 2 bit “eCommerce” programmers.

As I said, if it makes you feel more comfortable, absolutely, by all means use Tor, VPN's and whatever else you want on whatever platform.

I can assure you, that if you shop at a major retailer with cash, credit card, in person, online, drive a car, take a bus, that the profile that is available provides you no anonymity.

It's important to realize that not all your transactions are protected by your methods. You drive, you ride, you shop, you browse you transmit, log on, etc... it's staggering what you leave behind when you think you're leaving nothing behind.

Shall not be infringed. If this is true, trump is officially a gun grabber... as if the bump stock ban and red flag rules were not enough.

Lost my vote w even suggesting an unelected government boob determines my roght to self defense.
Guess he is tired of being prez.
I am sending a note w my non renewal for the NRA.. they have been quiet while he and every leftist in America accomplish something they never have before.
Is this going tp be a weekly or bi-weekly call for our guns?

Tor can’t protect against government surveillance of other aspects of my life and correlating said data - I was writing about browser habits and tor in specific within the confines of its capabilities. It does what it does very well. VPNs are simply another layer of protection.

For the rest of what you wrote, I agree, there is no way around that.

I like the concepts around Tor and VPN's, but the other trails you leave behind get associated with other behavior. I just want people to know it's not complicated to obtain that information, and in fact, people unwittingly agree to it by default and never realize it.
