It would be nice to know the details of a few of these cases.
Red Flag states are turning into East Germany, complete with Stasi and informants, where every individual is suspect.
The New Stasi are specially funded state police confiscation squads (e.g., California) whose sole task is to carry out Red Flag confiscations. If Flimsey Graham’s Red Flag law gets passed, all states will receive Federal funds to set up their own gun grabbing squads.
No-name snitch hotlines will come back into vogue; they were tried in the 1970’s when the social climate was truly anti-gun but were abandoned when thousands of calls flooded in from informants nursing grudges. Red Flag laws in most states allow anyone, not just a family member living under the same roof as the “accused”, to anonymously denounce someone to the po-po, who immediately come and seize his guns.
When a hearing does take place and the judge throws out the complaint saying, “He’s not crazy, give him his guns back”, the po-po will laugh and do their own version of Molon Labe.
We are becoming a suspect society already; social credit scores are next. Marcus Wolf, the last Stasi head before East Germany fell, is green with envy.
Does each case pass scrutiny? Did anyone lose their firearms that should not have?
A very interesting and telling statistic. People need to take note.
There is no such thing as a legitimate Red Flag confiscation, it is a violation of basic rights.
And even if you are tyrannically inclined and believe that government should be able to violate rights “for the greater good” it doesn’t work, the system is always swamped with cases against people who aren’t going to do anything wrong and misses the real dangerous ones.
“Are you a Florida Man? Red flag!!!”
There’s nothing wrong with Florida men. I just wish we could keep them in Florida. They sometimes get out.
Thanks for the ping, I saw it earlier too. So. Damn’ True.
