I am not going to the NYT and read what the reporter wrote but from what I read here it doesn’t sound like rigorous fact checking.

Talking to staffers is not much in the way of fact checking.

Did he get to review meeting notes or desk calendars?

Did he get to review phone logs?

Taking staffers at their word as to what really happen doesn’t add up to fact checking in my book.

Hearsay accuser at best. Had no first hand knowledge. Just spewing crap probably talked about over a drink in a bar. None of it would be allowed as evidence in a court of law, so why is it being allowed in the halls of the Federal Government

Because of Dems such as AOC (ex bartender) and lowlifes (list too long to place here) a bar is now a place of higher honor and respect than Congress. At least in bars they have bouncers to toss out babbling types to the sidewalk or street. Not so as "sgt.at arms" guys seem half asleep (as during Kavanaugh hearings when screeching, howling women scratched at the wooden doors in a mob.)
