So? I am ashamed we’v been there in the first place.

America is not the world’s policeman and American taxpayers shouldn’t be taxed to go fight someone else’s war.

Besides, the Kurds are Sunni muslim with no redeeming qualities.

Fox News using an anonymous source to spread their narrative. So how are they different from the rest of the Democrat media? Answer: They’re not.

The President is spot on with this. Get our guys out! You know, I highly doubt a Special Forces guy said anything to CNN lite! Let the UN handle this now. I’m freakin tired tired of seeing our warriors coming home missing body parts and not having their heads screwed on right!!! We have a thing called The US AirForce!!! A few bunker buster 20000 lb jobs will do nicely. Lindsay Graham is a fraud, along with most of the Generals and pundits.

I don’t know what to think about our Presidents decision on this. I agree we have no business in Syria, however, maybe the President should have let them know you go anywhere near the Kurds and hellfire will rain down on your men in Syria

I am angry that we got sucked into Syria in the first place. President Trump wanted us out months ago but the establishment squawked that we needed more time to stage an orderly withdrawal. Time is now up. America first means not getting sucked into every war anywhere in the world just because that is what we always do.

It is not America’s responsibility to go around the world fighting everybody else’s battles for them and cleaning up everybody else’s messes for them.

I’ve got an idea. Since the Middle East is right next to Europe and since Europe needs Middle Eastern oil and gas while America doesn’t, let’s let the Yurps deal with the Middle East’s problems for a change. They can deploy their awesome soft power and show us all how to solve problems in a smarter, more sophisticated and more civilized way like they’re always telling us they could. OK. Show us Yurps!

These people need to tone it down a bit.

There were 25-30 SF people in the area. They are many miles from the main US facilities.

These guys are not going to stop the full Turkish army. And there is no way that we are going to fire on a NATO ally.

So, these people need to stick the string back up, Rodeo Up, and do what they are told. War sucks. We never should have been there. And now we are leaving. We will witness the animals that inhabit the middle east in their natural habitat.

Well, so going forward, any soldier that doesn’t agree with the CIC can simply go to the media and get front page coverage stating their opinion?

Yeah, I don’t think so..l.only if the CIC is Trump or some other conservative.

When it’s Obama or the like not so much...

Turkey wanted a so-called buffer zone all along the border. We agreed to it months ago. This is an area that the Kurds had only occupied about 3 years ago, chasing down ISIS.

Previously the area was occupied by Assad’s troops.

Most of this buffer zone is majority Turkomen and Arab, not Kurds.

We don’t do what Erdogan says, just because he wants it, ever.

We didn’t run, we simply moved about 100 troops about 40 kilometers from their obsertvation posts.

We have 19 bases in the former Syria, now Rojava.

We are pouring concrete and requisitioning fuel, hardly tucking tails.....

We are building a new base right across the border in Jordan that is so big and permanent that we are hiring a community planner for the American personnel and their families to live in.

The Rojava Kurds aren’t aligned politically with the Iraqi Kurds that most people thing of.

Please help me sort this out in my mind. Without any legal basis, we have deployed troops to a sovereign nation, Syria, to assist a non state group fight another non state group supported by some other sovereign nation who may be our ally or possibly our enemy who buy arms from someone else who we once assisted fight someone else in the same region and we depend on someone else to provide logistics for our troops who are making sure someone else is guarding prisoners who someone else captured fighting someone’s enemy. Meanwhile Bashar Assad is sitting in Damascus laughing his ass off while arms dealers all over the world are concerned that they might have to find new customers among the politicians in multiple countries who collectively have their fingers in the air trying to determine which way the wind is blowing.

Me, I’m going fishing while someone crazier than me sorts out this cluster ****.

Pollak: Fox News’ Unethical Report on Soldier’s Opinion from Syria

Fox News national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin posted several tweets Wednesday night reporting that an unnamed U.S. special forces soldier in Syria opposed President Donald Trump’s decision this week to withdraw.

It is against military law for soldiers in uniform to disagree publicly with the commander-in-chief. And, to the extent that the soldier’s quotes describe U.S. positions or troop morale, it is a serious breach of national security.

Civilian control of the military requires that elected leaders make policy decisions that the armed forces carry out — with the sole exception of orders that violate international humanitarian law.

Military leaders can offer advice to the president but cannot disobey or criticize his decisions while they are serving in the armed forces. Front-line aoldiers make the greatest and most admirable sacrifices, but they swear to defend the Constitution, not their opinions.
