I guess they never changed the name of Bien Hoa, where I was. I see on Google Earth, that the parallel runways are still there. I would suspect they are still using them. I put MANY an aircraft down on those runways. I have been in the Philippines for 6 years now. English is very common. These people have never forgotten that MacArthur said he would return.

"The property owner was pressured by homosexual activists to not renew the lease, what’s to keep them from moving to a different location?"

Aggressive activism needs to be followed by counter aggressive activism. The owner needs to be targeted and harassed to show that he made the wrong decision. The space to be vacated should be publicized as a location that is unrentable.

McCarthyaGhost is right on, the group sells great chicken, are NOT anti anyone.... They just won’t put a certain group on their list of preferred charities, and so they get vilified. I am sure their company will make it without a their London business.

Vung Tao is very much, a global destination, in my view anyway.

I went there too. I thought it was pretty nice. It seemed to be a neutral area. Everyone left everyone else alone.
The Aussies were there, and everyday, like clockwork, they sent a Caribou up to Bien Hoa. We could almost set our watches by them. I thought it compared to Boracay, but smaller in area.

“As reported by BBC News, it will now close after pressure from local gay rights groups and a media row around the causes it has historically supported.”

It’s a faggot’s world.

I have been gcoming back here as often as I can make it for 16 years and have seen higher levels of prosperity every time I go. There were ox-carts on the road in 2003. Now there are cars in many yards in Cam Đức, "my" town, the streets are paved and the small town has become a large burg on the highway and Sài Gòn has traffic jams.
I am normally a bit snarky about American fast food joints opening there as the local food is much better and is cheaper. KFC is already there and I would like to see Chick-Fil-A in Sài Gòn. The Vietnamese do like fried chicken and I would rather see Chick-Fil-A than KFC. If they would put Maria La Vang in the window they would draw a repeat traffic from the Catholics without alienating the Buddhists et al.

The economy was unshackled in the 90s and took off between 03 and 07 and has been rising steadily since. The government is Communists, at least nominally, but once the old guys died off the younger men turn out to be Vietnamese and so are highly practical unlike, say, the Russians. When something doesn't work they quit doing it. Collectivization didn't work. Neither did government ownership of the means of production or opposition to the USA. They know that Việt Nam must become wealthy as a country in order to not become a province of China and they know that free enterprise and alliance with America is the way to make that happen. The population has the same sort of business instinct that seems genetic in Koreans. Việt Nam responds well to liberalization pressure from the USA. Clinton and Bush provided that incentive and it worked wonders. Obama hates Việt Nam because of its desire to be friends with America and so snubbed the country which backslid a bit. Trump has reversed that trend again and is a great favorite of the People here.

It is still called Sà Gòn on everything that is not Official and government people will not "correct" you if you call it that. TPHCM is actually a province of which Sài Gòn is the principal city.

I love it there and would stay if my wife were able to take the plane ride. I stay with a family in Cam Đức near Nha Trang. I fronted my friend with the seed money that showed he had a "rich American" backer and he got a loan from the tiệm vàng where I go to dịch tiền. The front room is mine.

The Vietnamese have never forgotten the Americans and wish they would return, to Cam Ranh.

Freedom died in Britain many years ago. Leftists fascists rule the day even under very conservative Prime Ministers.

The Aussies are pretty much everywhere there is a beach in the South now and the locals have little trouble sorting Americans and Aussies. Aussies are not very friendly to locals and Americans are spotted instantly as soon as one gives a local a hand with something. Aussies don’t do that, nor do much of anyone else.

How to obtain a chick-fil-a franchise,
https://www.chick-fil-a.com/Franchising
I don’t think they require a huge amount of up front money, but a strong Christian background is a big plus.
