What do you expect? She was borderline tortured in federal custody (solitary confinement, withholding of medical care, sleep deprivation, etc.). She will look a lot better after a month of freedom and good Russian food.
I think Slavic woman myth is practically gone. The potato and liquor diet it non-existent anymore. There are decent looking 50 somethings as a result.
