Does it belong in 21th century?
Russia is a major power since 1380s and a superpower since 1550s.
Do you know any nation outlived it in this status for that long? I guess not. But you probably know plenty of these looking down on Russia and stating it is a third rate declining power and nothing to care about and this thinking dates back to 800 years ago. How many of these were destroyed by the Russians not only as superpowers but as nations too? It wasn’t for nothing. Did Swedish or Polish empires envisioned their omnipotent states would be destroyed by the Russians in counterattacks to their invasions.

What Napoleon and Hitler thought? Did Napoleon envision Russian troops captured Paris? Did Hitler believe the Germans will learn Russian and not vice versa?
And if you’d say Genghis Khan his nations would harrass China and Japan on Russia’s order and would be below an autonomous state within Russia she wouldn’t ever believe it.

Agreed.

But the Russians want territory, as they have for hundreds of years.

The USA does not want territory, it just wants security, and exercises the means to obtain it.

Let the Russians have their bed of quicksand and quagmire. Now they must keep the peace, or wage a war of genocide. We be pumping oil , cha-ching! And adding to our economy that which was taken by the community organizer president of dirty name, adding much needed millions to the Kurdish economy. And a lot of that money will be spent buying arms and ordnance from the good old US of A.

Let Europe worry about the Russian penchant for territory.Sooner or later they will be forced to ante up.

Let the dumb ass Russians stay there. Syria is their ally anyway.

Then turn the oil field over to them.

Strategically now the caliphate jihadhis will have to come to US Forces and confront the buzz saw, the US Forces won’t have to hunt them down! Very smart strategy.

What caliphate? According to the President the caliphate and ISIS have been destroyed.

Russia has more territory than it needs at this point. The idea of Russian involvement in Syria is to prevent disorder on the border. I know, geography is not a popular science anymore but Turkey and Iran immediately borders Russia, Syria and Iraq are near immediate neighbors. Turkey and Iran already has millions escaped from the war. Russia already has enough immigrants. And enough terrorists too.

The whole world of ISlAM is bent on establishing a world wide caliphate.Witness them right amongst us here in the USA. We even have a duo elected to Congress who are their agents.

ISIS is destroyed, but the effort by the whole world of Islam will continue from the Philippines, through Indonesia, Thailand and right over to the middle East and through Northern/Middle Africa into the USA and into Europe. Even China is putting them into concentration camps.

We have won a battle, but not the war. Now its time to defeat them right here in the good old US of A.

Allahwahoo Whackbar!

Agreed, which is the reason Putin seized the Crimea. He is not ever going to allow the exodus of Muslim refugees into Russia, the world Wide Caliphate seed, which will be directed by Turkey and Putin right into the soft underbelly of Progressive Globalist Europe. Why do you think that Brexit is so popular?

Russian military deployed to Syria in autumn 2015. The least number of Islamic terror attacks recorded in Russia and friendly Stan’s since 1989 followed. All the bastards went to Syria to meet their fate. For people familiar with geography Syria and Russia are slightly farther than Fresno and Vegas. There are more potholes and some bearded hitchhikers with guns and bombs in between but the idea still stands. It takes hours not days to commute.

You seem to know more about this than most.

One of the issues I found troubling last year was the US message. Last year - mind you... The message sent to Syria/Russia to use your nomenclature was to not touch Al Qaeda in Idlib.

I never understood it then, but perhaps now it makes sense. That the US troops already then were on the scent of the Isis leadership and wanted to pursue that without getting barrels bombs dropped on their head?

Thoughts?

I like your contributions, though I am afraid if I chime in, in support we might be accused of being Russo Vikings.

Pipelines and Iran are involved as well I believe...

Anyhow, the new season of Vikings should dispel any notion of any Norse Viking-Russian alliance as it seems they have dreamed up an entire season on an entirely fictional attack by the Rus on Scandinavia.

So, thank you “Hollywood” for having our back.

Though sort of odd that they make up a Russian enemy even in fictional history in this time and age? Things that make you go...”hmm”

Cheers.

But, as President Trump said?

The same people that want these endless war against muslims in the middle east. Seems, oddly enough, to be the same people that want as many as possible of them to immigrate to the United States?

Why did he say that? And, what did he mean by that?

Then turn it over to the Syrians. It's their country, which makes it their oil. Who exactly are we protecting it from?

There are commandments that people need to be aware of.

Here are 4:

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

“You shall not steal.

“You shall not murder.

Oddly enough, the perpetual war creates a perpetual stream of jihadi converts from “peaceful” Muslims.

We need resounding victory, when necessary, and then peace, to arise again only when the devils and demons of Islam reach a target worthy level. Trying to prevent it is not a method that works, either through occupation, or attempted conversion to “democracy.” The only other remedy would be the nuclear annihilation of the largest Muslim cities in the world,in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia. including Mecca, and with a soon to be nuclear Iran, that option is soon to be impossible without mutually assured destruction.

If Iran attacks Israel or the West with nuclear arms, much of Islam will indeed be destroyed via nuclear strike. The next challenge is to defeat the genocidal maniacal mullahs of Iran.

I believed all this.... too.

Still think it sort of applies, so getting Baghdaddi was good and particularly that Trump rubbed it in, “Squealing like a pig”... No glory in jihad...

“Mecca”

For the same reason, I wanted that place nuked after 911.

I think I was mistaken though. I know I was mistaken. Spiritually at least.

Spiritually, the religious text matters? Who haven’t at least peaked at the quran? Read certain hadiths?

It is very depraved and hateful stuff at times :(

Maybe we could learn more about each others by studying each others religious texts?

There is no mistake spiritually.

Allah is not Jehova. Mohammed is not Christ revisited.
Jehovah comes from a tradition which involves the mythology of heaven while Allah is involved with the mythology of earth, traditionally Allah is a composite of the ancient Sumarian gods: Ninartha/Sin and even Baal. Today, the crescent symbol of Islam comes from ancient Sumeria and their moon goddess.Their tenants and energy are vile, destructive, and contrary to freedom and liberty, just as it was in ancient Sumeria.

There is no spiritual shame in understanding the true history of Islam.Essentially it is a religion of conquest and subjugation. Islam as a term means surrender. That is why Islam can never actually support a free , open society like the United States, our nation based upon Judeo- Christian concepts of liberty, truth and justice as evinced by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution; both of which are regarded as documents of heresy by Islam scholars world wide.

I would have no problem at all seeing Islam disappear as the scourge of the earth it truly is.

Me: Why in the hell would we let the Russians have the oil.

DD: Then turn it over to the Syrians. It’s their country, which makes it their oil. Who exactly are we protecting it from?

Me: It is the oil that ISIS used to prop up their Caliphate. We will not allow them to gain access.

Syria had their chance. They failed, as did their incompetent Russian allies.
