They don’t say what the probability of it striking Earth is. It’s traveling at 26,000 miles an hour so if it did hit us it would be very nasty. On the other hand that speed makes it less likely.

Correction - it’ll pass 1.4x the distance to the moon. Yawn. Merry Christmas.

You won’t hear it here either. Only half awake.

Your calculation is off by 10x 3.9% of 93 million is 3.6 million miles. Even less to worry about. (I think I am awake now??

So which is worse?
A 0.000000070% chance of impact?
Or a 99.99999993% chance of a miss?

Thanks. You are right - take off 10 points for decimal placement. I was doing math on my phone calculator instead of my HP 12C and before coffee. That'll teach me.

Yeah, good luck with that. From Wikipedia:

Grande has received various accolades, including one Grammy Award, one Brit Award, two Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards, and several Guinness World Records. All five of Grande's full-length albums have been certified platinum or better by the RIAA. As one of the leading streaming pioneers in the world, she has amassed over 40 billion streams on platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music. She is the most followed female on the two former, while being the most listened female on the latter two. An influential figure on social media, she is an outspoken feminist and supporter for LGBT rights. She asserts control over her public image and is known for her ponytail hairdo and bold fashion statements. In February 2019, she became the most followed woman on Instagram. Forbes ranked her amongst the highest-paid celebrities in 2019, and Time named Grande as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2016 and 2019. Billboard recognized her as the "Woman of the Year" in 2018.

According to JPL, the nearest approach this year is about 0.04 AU or 5.8 million kilometers (3.6 million miles).

The world would not end, but life would change for everyone who survives.

Of course, I predict the socialists would make a run at seizing power.

Earth’s orbit is 584 million miles around the sun.
It’s diameter is about 8000 miles.

8000/584,000,000 is kinda small.

Only one in 73,000 chance that the earth will actually BE where the asteroid passes thru the ‘orbit’.

Go back to sleep; this is just math.
