Its time to stop inviting all sports teams to the White House.

It worked once, but now its an idea that has passed its prime.

Nobody is forcing this pathetic player to go to the WH. How tacky of him to make a big deal that he is NOT going. He certainly will not be missed.

Pitched for 3 innings, faced 11 batters, played in 3 games, started in none, 1 save. Makes $13mil/3 yr contract.
Batting 2 strike outs and a ground double play. Worse than one replacement batter. Didn’t bat in the World Series. Maybe that’s why they won. (Astros, when they make errors, they seem to compound them by making as many as possible, until ALL the runners make it home.)

…””My wife and I stand for inclusion and acceptance, and we’ve done work with refugees, people that come from, you know, the ‘shithole countries,’ ” he added, referencing remarks Trump made in 2018 about immigrants coming from Haiti and other African nations.
Doolittle went on to say that “as much as I wanted to be there with my teammates and share that experience with my teammates, I can’t do it.”...

Mr. Doolittle evidently does not understand why people from the those places he describes will move heaven and earth to get to this country. Why does he suppose that is? Could it be that the freedoms this nation was founded upon, which, evidently, he has no clue of, made it possible for us to live in harmony and have fair and legal elections every four years to elect our leaders to offices of respect in our government. After electing those leaders, in the past, all Americans came together in good will and fellowship, even though their candidate did not win. That is why we have a prosperous nation which can coddle people like him who act in ways not in line with an appreciation or knowledge of what freedom really requires to continue on into the future. Many of us now know that he is not REALLY one of us. We will pray that he can eventually gain insight into why we know our laws must be protected as set up by our Founders. To do otherwise will turn us into those countries whose residents require that we work to help them. I, also, work with refugees and I do not see things the way Mr. Doolittle does. My family is also multi-cultural. We just love our fellowman/woman and look for ways to always be inclusive. That incudes our President.

Dolittle is a vile leftist full of false self importance. Good riddance. I would not want him visiting my house. Maybe he should visit Syria instead? He has a lot more in common with ISIS than normal Americans.

From Wikipedia:

"In June 2015, when the Oakland Athletics Pride Night received backlash from some fans for the team's support of LGBT rights, Doolittle and then-girlfriend Eireann Dolan bought hundreds of game tickets, which they donated to local LGBT groups, and raised an additional $40,000 in donations."

There’s a lot of things, policies that I disagree with, but at the end of the day, it has more to do with the divisive rhetoric and the enabling of conspiracy theories and widening the divide in this country," Doolittle said.

So, it's Obama's fault.

Conservatives have also boycotted the visit like Tim Thomas, goalie of the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins.

The president at the time was Barack Hussein Obama.

>>I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People. This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government. Because I believe this, today I exercised my right as a Free Citizen, and did not visit the White House. This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country. This was about a choice I had to make as an INDIVIDUAL.

But the author of this article:
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1037288-tim-thomas-the-ugly-truth-behind-his-white-house-refusal

says:
>>There are soldiers who fought and died so that Thomas would have the right, as a free citizen, to freely choose to sign a contract worth millions and millions of dollars with the Boston Bruins. Included in that contract would be his obligations to represent the Boston Bruins in public. Unless I am sadly mistaken, there was no clause in there which stated that Thomas would not have to represent the Boston Bruins if it involved a trip to the White House.

In other words, yes you have the right to boycott the visit as an INDIVIDUAL. But you are being paid big bucks to play hockey as a member of a TEAM.

I remember the days when common civility united us around the notion that the President represented the country, and we respected the office.

After the Kenyan stunk up the place for eight years, I'm afraid those days are gone for a while.

The US Constitution MANDATES that sports teams that win the championship MUST participate in these publicity stunts for the party controlling the White House. This so-called athlete is going to find his ass in JAIL if he keeps this up!

I hope you forgot the sarcasm tag.

Probably the first time that I watched not a minute of the WS. Or a regular season game, for that matter.

Note that I called Thomas a conservative. He did say “this in not about politics or party”. But he also said “the Federal government has grown out of control...in direct opposition to the Constitution” etc which sounds conservative to me.

THAT DOESN’T INCLUDE YOU, MR PRESIDENT.

There have been enough PHONIES in the White House in the past few years, best to stay out of it.
