Thanks. For clarification, was that for the World Series, or the whole season?
Neckbeard SJW
Sarcasm that obvious doesn’t need the tag.
Bernie the Snowflakes socialist hero would have the Doo Littles do much more and redistribute most of their sizable MLB salary to the poor. Birdbrains they live in a nation of economic advantages yet push and promote those who would lead us into rotgut socialism. SMH from the utter stupidity.
No you don't.
Exactly. Instead of standing up, putting their life on the line and fighting for independence and freedom in their homeland they run, never to return. (Yes, there are arguments that occasionally provide justification, but see next.)
Cold, hard fact (that many here are aware of):
The more of such people we import the sooner we will become like them.
Sadly, one must recall it is estimated only 5% of Americans responded to Washington's call to arms. So risking one's life for freedom is a fragile concept.
. ...well Sean, save every dime you can while you can because millions of opportunity doors just slammed shut on you and your wife forever!
MR. Doolittle, holding baby, and his wife.
I dont see their hearing aids. Maybe they missed Trump being called Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Nazi, and many other things.
Go away you Cuck and take your husband.
A baseball player without a brain. Fool.
I don’t care if he goes or doesn’t go.
Send the guy holding the 2 beers
Nailed it! So much for his inclusive principles. They only go as far as his bigotry.
Yeah. Same thing for the Arts. All those Presidential medals of honor just gives the rabble on the left a chance to diss the President and the 65 million Americans who voted for him.
I would agree, but lately it is harder to tell...
There he is, in his Teenage Ninja Turtle T-Shirt.
He dresses like a schoolboy, she probably treats him like one too.
Will be invited to dine with Important Leaders and attend mad cocktail parties. Team won’t miss him.
He doesn’t sound very inclusive.
There are soldiers who fought and died so that Thomas would have the right, as a free citizen, to freely choose to sign a contract worth millions and millions of dollars with the Boston Bruins. Included in that contract would be his obligations to represent the Boston Bruins in public. Unless I am sadly mistaken, there was no clause in there which stated that Thomas would not have to represent the Boston Bruins if it involved a trip to the White House.
And here is your input on the matter (no offense, but you've cited an article written by a moron):
In other words, yes you have the right to boycott the visit as an INDIVIDUAL. But you are being paid big bucks to play hockey as a member of a TEAM.
You can be forgiven for your ignorance, but someone who wrote the original article as a sportswriter should no better. He wouldn't have needed to include the qualified "unless I'm mistaken" if he had simply read a standard player contract for the league in question (the NHL in the Tim Thomas case, Major League Baseball in this case).
These contracts are very specific about the player's obligations. The player must abide by a "public code of conduct" that means they must behave themselves in public and avoid causing scandal for the team, but it doesn't mean the player is at the beck and call of the team's management to make public appearances.
Tim Thomas and Dudley Doolittle (whatever the hell his name is) have no contractual obligation to attend a White House gathering with the team.
They have no obligation to play for their respective national teams in international tournaments after the season ends.
They would have no obligation to show up in Times Square with the team on New Year's Eve to watch the ball drop on national TV.
They would have no obligation to participate in a NASA mission to the moon if their team owners thought it would be a good publicity stunt, either. That's not mentioned in a standard professional athlete's contract, either -- so why assume that a player IS obligated under such circumstances? A contract specifies what the two parties are OBLIGATED to do. It doesn't just leave it open and give one party the right to demand things from the other party just because it isn't mentioned in the contract.
When Scouts make Eagle, they usually write to the WH and get a congratulatory letter. I know of older Scouts who wished they got a letter from Reagan vs the one they got Carter, but they didn't NOT write the Carter WH nor trash their Carter congrats.
I think of this kind of nonsense to be theater. Who cares? And while this affrontery is Constitutionally permissible, I support an Amendment banning the communistic Designated Hitter.
