Our poor suffer from the diseases of obesity.
Modern American society has created an historical impossibility - fat poor!
Even if they were 100% lazy and worthless, the safety nets would keep then from starving. Now if they're selling/trading their stipends for drugs, alcohol or sex, it's possible but there's not a dam% thing we can do about that nor should we.
The idea that the US has a hunger problem is ludicrous on its face.
He got in Maxine Waters stash, then after a few puffs, he came up with this gem.
If parents can’t provide breakfast or lunch for their kids, should I assume that the parents aren’t eating either? If college students need food stamps, shouldn’t they reconsider college until they can at least provide basic sustenance ? Inquiring minds want to know.

Correct. America’s “poor” have an obesity problem.
The “war on poverty” created multiple generations of deadbeats with iPhones.
There’s no one starving in America!!!!

On top of all this, many schools send kids home with ‘backpacks’ of food on weekends to alleviate hunger. It is, of course, cruel to expect adult humans to care for and feed their offspring.
I’m not blaming the kids—they didn’t pick their parents, but at some point this has got to stop.
What bulls***-if these “poor” people are hungry, why are more of them morbidly obese than not? Every time I stay with my guy in the city, I see them lumbering down the aisles in the WalMart of HEB, filling their carts with convenience foods, boxed and frozen processed crap like mac and cheese, instant mashed potatoes, etc then stopping by the deli and bakery for a cake and a pizza-getting in the checkout line and swiping an EBT card to pay for it all-I’ll believe they need help with food when I see them at a normal weight, only able to get fresh food to cook-and no deli stuff-no one in America has any excuse to be really hungry unless they are on a crash diet...
Ben Franklin would agree to make hunger a priority. After all he wrote:
“The worst thing you can do to the poor is to make them comfortable in their poverty.”
I ain’t buying it! I’ve NEVER seen a person thin from starvation but I see huge numbers of overweight people. I’m done with this sympathy for starving people! Done!

People expect to “diet” for a relatively short time and then go back to their usual eating habits.
Lots of hungry people live in socialist countries.
