I would advise people not to commit murder in Japan. The gallows will be waiting in Japans Death Row.

The odds were in Wei Wei’s favor. He opted to pick one of the two of seven “advanced nations” to commit his crime.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire. Or both.)

Need more of those punishments here.

In China, he would have gotten a bullet to the back of the head. He died humanely in Japan.

Ok. Maybe 1 not-so-hot and a sleeping mat. But, still!

No drugs and no drama. A rope, a beam and gravity. How come we didn’t think of that? /s

Best part:
Executions are carried out in high secrecy in Japan, where prisoners are not informed of their fate until the morning they are hanged.

In Southeast Asia, its the end of the rope if you smuggle in illicit drugs.

Japan versus China. Long time hatefest. Still unforgiving over WWII.
Reminds me somewhat of the conflict alleged by
the Zen master Dr. D.T. Suzuki about America:
God against man. Man against God. Man against nature. Nature against man. Nature against God. God against nature. Very funny religion!
But Asians keep 1,000 year old grudges themselves. The Chinese Communists under Mao overran the Tibetans (including the Dalai Lama’s people) and raped thousands of women and girls, tortured some men and killed others to acquaint Tibetans with the uplifting Chicom system on their horizon./s
I’ll take America and the Judeo Christian based way of life over any of theirs.

100% Deterrent. This murderer will NEVER commit a crime again.

The bible is full of warnings on grudges. IMHO, forgiveness is one of the concepts that made western civilization great.
