The 3 perps entered Japan on student visas. As for the other two: “Wei’s accomplices fled to China after the crime. One was executed by Chinese authorities in 2005 while the other is serving a life sentence.” https://www.upi.com/Top_News/World-News/2019/12/26/Japan-hangs-Chinese-man-who-killed-family-in-2003/8461577359082/
Some might say that it was woe woe day for Wei Wei.
Sixteen years of absolute uncertainty as to when the big drop will happen. But if memory serves, the Japanese believe this is kinder to the condemned than giving him an execution date.
Wei Wei gone bye bye.
I’m probably hoping against hope, however... I am hoping the reason Barr decided to re-establish the Federal Death Penalty was for a reason.....
I can always hope....
I envy quick justice
Assuming he was guilty I have no problem with that. It’s my understanding that Japan isn’t nearly as tolerant of criminality as some countries.
Wei Wei...now that stinks.
100% Deterrent.
No, but the recidivism rate is 0%.
I kind of liked the punishment from “Shogun” where
the convicted was buried up to the neck at a cross roads,
and passers by were invited to saw at his neck with a
piece of split bamboo.
Wei Wei no more
His favorite band was Duran Duran.
In the garden on the outskirts of the town or village.
That’s the way they do it in Japan; you get a death sentence with no definitive date set.
You never know what day or time it will be, just that IT WILL HAPPEN.
Some people think it is cruel and unusual punishment, I happen to think it is appropriate to let them suffer, just wondering when they will get it.
Hang Wei Hai
How isnt he 100% deterred from committing another murder?
Looks like Wei Wei went “Bye, Bye”.
And in China your execution date is any day from the time the writ is signed
For years
Federal death penalty was reinstated for McVeigh
I didnt know it had been stopped and restarted again till your post
Well done
