Warsaw Pact, Part Deux...
But they do.
They have made if official policy.
.....and yet the press and political morons keep calling Trump a Russian tool. Unbelievable.
Reminds me of a joke.
Q: What sign were you born under?
A: I don’t know, but I was conceived under a “No Parking” sign.
:-)
A report by the Swedish Defense Research Agency found that Russia has threatened to cut energy supplies to Central and Eastern European more than 50 times. Even after some of those states joined the European Union, Russian threats continued.
**************************************************************
Germany, unlike some other buyers of Russian natural gas, actually pays its bills and doesnt try to divert/steal gas from pipelines. There is ZERO upside for Russia to threaten to cut off supplies.
Germany and Russia are sovereign nations...the pipeline is solely THEIR business just as Canadian/US pipelines are solely the business of Canada and the US.
Assad can take this as an international surrender. Thank Obama and McCain for the millions of corpses and the destruction of Europe.
We could be shipping them LNG from out huge supply, but apparently the EUSSRs Commisars prefer to be under Russias thumb.
That ‘energy noose’ propaganda is tiresome by now. Germany has LNG terminals to get gas from anywhere including US. More diversified supply is not a noose.
“””’Last week, the companies in the pipe-laying contract (all non-Russian)....kinda quit what they were doing and evaluating the problem. What the Russian investors have said is that Russian pipelayers could be brought up and take over the job. You have to wonder what this means in terms of quality. The Russian companies wouldnt care about Trumps threat....if anything, theyd appreciate it because they got more business now.””””
The Russian pipe-laying companies are mostly working in a Pacific and they are based there. Euro companies contracted for Euro pipes for obvious reason. It doesn’t mean the Pacific companies are unable to contribute giving the necessity. They need to adjust their shedule and move equipment and it takes time and money to do so.
Or Gazprom might buy the Swiss pipe-layer.
